Mercy

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

Can you comprehend a love without limits or boundaries? Pretty difficult to understand much less enact, but just realize that God’s mercy upon/towards you is a perpetual example of such love. Know that God loves you despite and in spite of your life’s “hiccups.” Just to be clear, it is He Who initiated contact and loved (even while you were still getting “you” together)…waiting patiently and faithfully for you to return, only to see you walk out again. However, through it all God’s mercy allowed you to make it to “this” day…even though you, me, or we don’t deserve it or the things He has established in it. So start reflecting upon what you did get/receive more so through His mercy, rather than something or someone denying you…then ascertain whether or not you are better for it :). Are you now starting to comprehend a love without limits or boundaries? Hopefully God’s mercy upon your life and its situations brings your heart, mind, body, and soul into focus.

Our Help

“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,” Let Israel now say—“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive, when their wrath was kindled against us; then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul; then the swollen waters would have gone over our soul.” Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth. Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; thee snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

Thank You Lord that our help does not come from this world, or the things of it. Thank You that our hearts are neither inclined to, nor focused on the matters prevailing over this world. Thank You that when we are in distress we do not have to look far, but simply right beside us for comfort and worth. Thank You Lord for being our hope and trust actualized in that you are our ever present help and strength…even in the midst of great turmoil. Thank You for such an overwhelming display of love that even from on high, You find time to see about our needs - When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor (Psalms 8:3-5, NKJV). Thank You! Thank You for standing for us when we are willing to fall for anything. Thank You for reaching out to us when we refused to let go and allowing Your grace and mercy to reside instead of anger and pride. Thank You for lifting our heads just enough above the foolishness to see that our help comes for You Lord - I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth (Psalms 121:1-2, NKJV). Thank You for being our help!

For The One

“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

How often do we go to church with expectation of spiritual grandeur upon the masses, yet forget about the “one” God is seeking to help? Think for just a minute about how much time Christians spend attempting to sway the masses, yet walk away frustrated because of the diminutive numbers that do show up…then carefully assess where “you” would be this day, this hour, this very minute if Jesus worked according to the same criteria. In your walk it’s important to note that God’s Word is not exclusive (there is no quota), rather inclusive; however, it is God’s people who seemingly define who and what defines the success of It, as well as, its impact. But if God’s thoughts and ways are not that of His people, who are they to assess His impact. The power of the cross is exhibited in/through the love by which Jesus was sent to it…serving as a symbol to the “masses”, but tailor made for the one. You do well to stop focusing on who isn’t in the church, and start focusing on who is (even the seasonal attender whose hand is out)…because God is just as concerned for the one as He is for the masses - Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent (Luke 15:3-7, NIV).

Benefits

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Many are the benefits to walking and being in Christ; however, one that is often overlooked is your access to the Holy Spirit and His ability to unlock the mysteries that are hidden in plan sight. Far too often Christians look past the knowledge and understanding they obtain through the inward manifestation of the Spirit; however, their walk is forever enriched, enhanced, and empowered by such a gift, that without the Spirit, they would be just another number in the crowd. This is why you can ill afford to walk in the flesh and all of its carnal ways because “it” is the path of destruction, first to self and then to others. However, God’s Spirit not only promotes life [It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63, NKJV)] , but intercedes on your behalf, that your way may be prosperous in the Lord - Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God (Romans 8:26-27, NKJV) . Know that God gives you the answers to this test called life through His Word, provides you a tutor in the Holy Spirit, and a mentor in Christ Jesus. Given all these benefits, you need not seek help from an outside source who cannot possibly comprehend the level He’s placed on and charge you more than life itself. Understand that when you come to Christ and receive His Spirit, God elevates you to a whole new level of understanding that the world cannot see or understand. So is it any wonder that the world has strife with you…always wanting the light in you, but never quite willing to change in order to receive it - I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish (Galatians 5:16-17, NKJV). To those of the world and operating in it, the message of the cross is mere foolishness as they are unwilling to receive God and thus never fully able to grasp the “things” of God. Always seeking, but never finding…always wondering, but never comprehending/understanding. Today come to Christ and receive His Spirit…then watch how God’s grace elevates you beyond this world’s comprehension - He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” (Mark 16:17-18, NKJV).

Something Greater Than Self

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.”

- Luke 9:23-24, NKJV

Would “you” go to the cross for Him? Jesus poses this daunting decision to you when He states that you must deny “self” and take up “your” cross to follow Him. It is again at this intersection between self and selflessness that you must choose whether or not you are willing to lose everything in order to gain it all. Know that the call to become and be involved in something greater than self is rewarding, but comes at a cost – death…your life for His…and that your transition from a carnal world to a spirit-filled life will result in death to flesh (self) that you may be raised in His Spirit. This is not a forced transition and should not be taken lightly; rather, without compulsion and free of reservation. Understand that this change is akin to a caterpillar’s metamorphosis to a butterfly in that while you may be content in your current status, you will never fulfill your true glory unless you change. So no matter how seemingly insignificant it is to you or the hardships along the way, your shift from “self” means something to the Kingdom of God...and potentially everything to whom God has assigned you to. This is the plight of everyone who willingly serves the Lord – to lose oneself in order to become something greater than “self.” So understanding all that is required, would “you” go to the cross for Him…but before answering know that He already picked you for His team, in spite of your resume, before you even submitted your application - You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you (John 15:16, NKJV).

Not By Our Own Hands

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.

Let’s come to our senses and let God be Lord over our lives…fully acknowledging that “it” is not by our own hands or our own doing…regardless of whatever “it” is. Know that we can’t remove “it” or establish “it”; rather, it is God Who both removes and establishes by His Word, not ours. There is power and conviction in His Word, and His Word, if allowed to, comes alive in each of us through the embodiment of His Spirit. So let’s stop accrediting self for self serving motives that lead to nothing, and start exalting Him as Lord over our entire lives…then humbly submit to His Spirit and watch how the glory of His Word enlightens our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls that the “right” path might be illuminated!

Owes Nothing, Yet Gives So Much

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.

We want so much from God, but give so little in return. Yet we serve such an awesome Lord Who is gracious beyond measure and imagination. He owes nothing, yet gives so much - The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works (Psalms 145:8-9, NKJV). Can we collectively, as God’s body, exalt Him for the victory we have in Jesus Christ and acknowledge the signs, wonders, and miracles that are His love - Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things! The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done (Psalms 118:15-17,NIV) . He is mighty and worthy to be praised. Hallelujah! Today give thanks for an ever faithful, ever-loving, and ever lasting God…One Who owes nothing, yet gives so much - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:16-17, NKJV).

He Has Done Excellent Things

Sing to the Lord, for He has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, O inhabitant if Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst!"

Make God first and foremost on your heart, mind, body, and soul as you start the week. Remember the greatness of His love and recall the mighty things He has delivered you from. Understand that He "is" (just simply input Who/What He is to you and your life) and He always will be; as a result, rejoice because has done (and will continue to do) excellent things...to you, in you, and through you. What an awesome and magnificent God...but ask yourself who you are sharing this good news with? Today rejoice in the Lord for He has done excellent things...then ensure you spread the "Word" that all might know!

Until It's Done

Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in. And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days. And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him.”

- Joshua 6:1-5, NKJV

Do you believe God? Do you believe He is Who He says He is? Do you believe He’ll do what He says He’ll do? If the answer is “yes”, then do “you” believe He’ll do “it” for “you”? Answer still “yes”…then will you follow His instructions until “it” (whatever it is) is done? While it is easy to say “yes” when you can see how a situation or circumstance may benefit you, it’s a much tougher thing to continue to go in a direction you are uncertain of the outcome. However strange that direction may seem to be, your trust and faith in God must prevail over fear, doubt, and anxiety (examine your answers to the first five questions and see if they are the same now). Understand that “it” can be any number of things and more likely than not “it” is probably something you’re not only incapable of doing on your own, but unwilling to do even if given the means. Bottom line “it” requires a new level of faith, trust, and commitment…and that is exactly why God has placed “it” in your life. Know that “it” isn’t some random happenstance, rather a training ground to advance your walk in Him that you may bring light to His people and glory to His name. Do you believe in God enough today to press on regardless of what “it” is and how “it” will impact you…if so then work until it’s done knowing that neither God’s hand, nor His promises will ever falter.

Faithful

Everyone holds onto something, but if “you” aren’t holding onto God’s promises how assured are you that what you’re grasping will hold up under pressure? Know that you have God at His Word…He truly is Who He says He is…yet far too many of God’s people choose to hold onto any/everything other than God’s Word. While life is full of choices, it’s time to make more informed ones…beginning and ending with your faith in God. So do you really believe God (i.e. does He have you at His Word)? Do you believe that He is Who He says He is (i.e. that He is a deliver of His promises)? Do you believe He’ll do what He says He’ll do (i.e. He’s both willing and capable of doing what He said He’ll do)? Do you believe He’ll do it for you (i.e. His Word/blessings apply to you just as much as your neighbor/coworker)? He (God) is faithful…how about you? Today place your hope and trust in God’s Word believing until the end that He is faithful and will keep His promises to you.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

- 1 Samuel 16:7, NKJV

God knows your resume long before you hand Him your application. So stop telling Him what you are/aren’t qualified to do. God isn’t looking for the perfect person who can say, “I did it”; rather, looking for the one who’s heart is inclined to say “yes” and “amen” to God’s will…allowing His glory to shine through. God is the master chess player, positioning the seemingly insignificant and irrelevant in the most strategic positions for His Kingdom’s benefit at the appointed time. Know that when He calls you to action that it’s not about you, but about the overall benefit to His Kingdom and His people. So perhaps it’s time to relook that resume, and instead of hesitating when it comes to applying for the challenging positions, you walk in boldness and confidence knowing that you already have been endorsed by the definitive source, God - Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me” (Isaiah 6:8, NKJV).

Break In

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

- John 10:10 (NIV)

There is a thief breaking into Christian homes at an alarming rate. Unlike many of his counterparts, this thief comes to not just take your possessions, but to kill and destroy you...in other words his break in is intended to not only break you, but to completely take you out. His heart's desire is to ensure that every remnant, every trace, every part of your essence is taken away...and will not rest until it is done. As bad as this sounds, you could perhaps take solace in knowing that you have done all to stand against his advances, but unfortunately you have unwittingly left the door wide open and allowed him to enter. In the natural you would never be so slack in protecting yourself against a break in, yet your spiritual nonchalance has allowed this thief to enter uninhibited...and now that he is in he won't go, won't stop until he has you. What started as a mere break in has quickly turned into a hostage situation, and if left unattended will become a homicide. In the natural someone might call 911 if they witnessed a break in…may call if they witnessed a hostage situation...and definitely call if there was a homicide, yet when the enemy breaks into your spiritual home no one sees, hears, or does anything about it. So is it any wonder then that this same thief continues to go door to door unchecked? This ought not be so for those who bear the name of He Who has placed all things under His feet - And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all (Ephesians 1:22, NKJV). So then if greater is He that is in you than in the world [You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4, NKJV)] and you can all things through Christ is who strengthens you [I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13, NKJV], why are you willingly allowing this thief to take everything God has bestowed upon you? Understand that this thief only has power and authority you cede to him...and he can do nothing unless you allow it - No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house (Mark 3:27, NKJV) . It's time for you to speak up (use God's Word) and do something to not only prevent further break ins, but to also thwart subsequent hostage situations and homicides. Today call the authority and let Him secure you...then watch how you'll never have to worry about another home invasion.

Proper Place

I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

We place a lot of things in our lives before God; however, nothing and no one should ever go ahead of Him. Know that when our mind and our actions drift away from Him we lose focus on what is truly important in our lives, Him. So is it any wonder that a world so consumed by the “here” and “now is also absorbed in things that are not of God? Far too often we take God out of our decisions, out of our work, out of our education, and out of our joy, but then question His availability and authority when situations that “we” never included Him go sideways…seemingly hoping that the lives we built on such a shaky foundation will somehow withstand life’s storms. However, if we just put God back in His proper place, as the head of our lives…the beginning and end to our situations, then we will receive proper counsel, and all of our plans/actions will be established with a solid and everlasting foundation. Understand we are not built to go at this thing called life alone; rather, intended to go through it with God as the author and director of all actions…so why not let Him conduct it accordingly? Today let us elevate God back to His proper place as Lord over our lives…then watch how He keeps us with His mighty hand.

A Call To Serve

“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord”!

God is calling you to service this day, this hour, this very moment...but do you hear Him? The call is resonating in your ears and rumbling throughout your soul…but will you heed it? The call is challenging you to no longer settle for just being a “hearer” of God’s Word, but a “doer”…but will you let it move you? God’s call is an ever present fire burning deep inside as His Spirit warms you with all of His glory…but will you embrace it? The Lord Himself is issuing you a personal call to serve, but will you answer Him or continue to allow His call to either be ignored or go voice mail? Know that while God’s call is for you, it is not necessarily about you…so are you willing to simply ignore it out of inconvenience knowing that your service is intended to impact someone or something bigger than self? Understand that He Who is calling has prepared you for this particular day since the beginning of time and knows your qualifications before you even hand Him your resume [And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified (Romans 8:30, NIV)]… so if not for self, not for others, will you answer God’s call to serve - Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord. Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant” (Jeremiah 1:4-10, NKJV)?

Where Are You Headed?

But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.

Do you know where you’re going to? Before answering understand that the direction you are/aren’t taking can/will alter not only the course you’re taking, but those around you as well. Are you on a trajectory leading to destruction or is yours the path by which others follow to come out of darkness and into light? Know that while the former is readily accessible to any/all, the latter is only attained by moving in God’s direction. So have you completely thought out where you are headed? Perhaps the path you started on is not quite the one you find yourself on today or perhaps you find yourself on “said” course, but lost, dazed, and confused. Regardless of your situation, it is never too late to stop and ask God for directions. Now admitting you are wrong and that you have a problem are perhaps the two most difficult things you can do (especially when pride is involved); however, if you are able to humble yourself enough to receive the Lord’s guidance and direction you will quickly see that His Word is far better than any map. So where are you headed today…hopefully wherever “it” is you are going with His GPS (God Positions Saints).

A Life Poured Out

And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days…And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the remnant whom the Lord calls.

- Joel 2:28-29;32, NKJV

Are you going through this thing called life intentionally or by accident…on full or empty. Truth is many people wake up each day with some sort of plan, what comes of it is an entirely different story; resulting in our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls operating in varying states. The reality of your walk in Christ or in the world is that you are going to be depleted by its events (regardless of what “it” is); however, the fundamental difference between the two is Who (not what) is filling you up. Know that only God is able to maintain and sustain you through the good, the bad, and the ugly…but are you allowing Him (not the world) to fill you…if so is it on a consistent basis? So many Christians desire the things of God, but want absolutely nothing to do with God…seemingly looking for the mere convenience of “things” vice the creator of said “things.” What they miss, and you ought not to, is a life poured out from the heavenly realms that equips, empowers, and encourages you regardless of whether you’re pulling in on empty, operating on full, or somewhere in between. Understand that you’re going to need to be filled for the journey is too long, too hard for you to endure on your own…so why not be filled from your God! - Then as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat.” Then he looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again. And the angel of the Lord came back the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you. So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God (1 Kings 19:5-8, NKJV)!

Feed On His Faithfulness

Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

We are living in a consumer’s market where any/all things are available at a cost for those who desire it. The world and all of its allure offers a little of “this” and a little of “that”…leaving Christians to feed off a menu that is neither spiritually nourishing or enhancing. Know that we are what we eat and that this buffet of carnality is consuming God’s people from the inside out; however, the Lord is offering a seat at His table for all who are willing to feed on His faithfulness. Understand that the cost of carnality is our collective souls and while many of us are not “willing” participants in the spread/promotion of the world’s banter, our silence or blind eye is just as liable. Similar to second hand smoke, that while not directly killing others does indirectly contribute to their death, so too does the Church enable the world’s consumer market by not providing the “soul” friendly/healthy alternative for the world to consume. When the Church prays, God moves…when the Church teaches God empowers…when an empowered Church moves according to God’s will people are liberated. This all begins and ends with turning away from the shiny apples of the world, and by the Church feeding on the faithfulness of the Lord…seeking His righteousness vice our own carnality…believing that He is all we need, and as long as He is our portion, we will have all that our hearts desire. Today take a closer look at what you are consuming and promoting knowing that unless “it” contains the ingredients of Christ, “it” is either directly or indirectly contributing to someone else death.

Honor The Lord

Something wonderful happens every time we let go and let God be Lord over our situations mercy - Trust in the Lord forever, for in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength. For He brings down those who dwell on high, the lofty city; He lays it low, He lays it low to the ground, He brings it down to the dust. The foot shall tread it down - the feet of the poor and the steps of the needy (Isaiah 26:4-6, NKJV). He and He alone has established us and our way…providing throughout the seasons of life. Glorious is His name and we exalt Him for laying such a wonderful foundation through His grace and mercy. Today let us honor the Lord in deed and word… placing Him above all other things in our lives…then watch how He establishes immeasurable peace within our hearts – You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in you (Isaiah 26:3, NKJV).

Good, bad, or indifferent you stand as a living testimony to the works of God’s hands. How you choose to express the narrative is entirely up to you, but just know that God’s work in and through you is telling the world His story…not yours. Those in the faith gladly acknowledge this, while the world is dumbfounded by it. Bottom line is as a Christian you must recognize that this thing called life is not about you; rather, about God’s love, His grace, and His mercy. You are His blessed tool, His workmanship, and most importantly His manifested miracle who carries His light into the world’s darkness. Today stand up and declare what He has done you that the world may see that He is still in the healing, delivering, restoring, loving, and blessing business…then watch how He uses the testimony that is “you” to liberate His people!

The Finer Things In Life

There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing; and one who makes himself poor, yet has great riches.

The pursuit of happiness has varying degrees of inputs/outputs, as well as, definitions. Many folks of this world strongly believe that happiness is defined by the accumulation of “stuff”…and the more “stuff” the greater comfort, the greater opportunity, and the greater status. This pursuit is not germane to any particular culture or society, and is a prevalent theme across time. This pursuit is also further refined and epitomized by one’s willingness to do “whatever” is necessary, “whatever” it takes to obtain the finer things in life…but how far a man/woman is willing to go to obtain “said” things is quite scary. Know that no amount of fleshly riches is ever worth your soul in that any/everything of the flesh will die; subsequently, the incessant quest to secure them above all things (including your soul) is a path towards destruction - For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul (Matthew 16:26, NKJV). Understand that in the Kingdom it is he/she who is willing to deny self in pursuit of the Lord, His righteousness, and all His love who truly obtains the finer things in life [Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matthew 16:24-25, NKJV)]…and in doing so receives the Spirit of life [It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63, NKJV)] and gains eternal riches that are finer than any gold or silver. The pursuit of happiness begins/ends with your love of God…and it is He Who will add the finer things in life to you, not the world and its shenanigans - “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble (Matthew 6:31-34, NKJV). Today redefine your pursuit of happiness and examine what you consider to be the “finer” things in life…faithfully believing that you reap what you sow and that only a pursuit of the Lord’s righteousness will truly make you rich - For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works (Matthew 16:27, NKJV).

How Much

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.”

How much are “you” willing to give up and how far are “you” willing to go to receive God’s promises? It’s too easy a thing to complain about what you’re not seeing manifest in your life, but it’s another to actually be willing to do exactly what God asks of you in order to receive His blessings - Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise (Hebrews 10:35-36, NKJV). God calls His people to leave “self” behind that they may have Him (along with all His entitlements), but unfortunately more often than not they look more so at the cost of their sacrifice instead of His reward of their obedience. Know that God went all in by giving up His Son for your salvation…that you may be free to choose between sacrifice and obedience. How about you? How much is “too much” of a cost for you to receive God’s blessings? Perhaps you should consider your answer before murmuring before the Lord about why you can’t see His blessings.

Don't Be Moved

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

There is a shift among the body of Christ, but God is telling His people to press on because He is positioning His people for the glory of His Kingdom…the uplifting of His people. While there is much required of you in this season, God asks that you don’t be moved by what you see in front of you [And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God (Acts 20:22-24, NKJV)] knowing that His Spirit goes before you and testifies to what lies and waits. Stand firm in the convictions of His call…do not be moved, nor shaken [Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:28-29, NKJV)] by the world’s insults, reproaches, attacks, or the struggles of friends and family…press, press, and press some more so His Word may be sent out to His people. Endure until the end and know that after you have done the will of God, you shall be rewarded - Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: “For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul (Hebrews 10:35-39, NKJV). Today press forward in His calling and bring glory to His name…then watch how His grace and mercy reign on Earth.

Draw Near

Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, O virgin of Israel”!

Do you believe in the glory of His grace? Do you believe in the redemptive healing of His salvation? Do you believe in His love…love that exceeds your natural understanding? Do you believe He is for you? Do believe that He will uproot the very things that are holding you down in order to build you up? Do you believe in Him? If the answer is yes to any of the above, then draw near to the Lord and receive the fullness of His glory! One of life’s ironies is that individuals spend an excessive amount of time searching for love and for something/someone to belong to; however, often overlook the love of Christ…the very thing you long to have. Understand that in Christ you have access to God’s everlasting love, His everlasting touch, yet you often forsake what is right before you for the allure of the world’s shiny objects…never fully comprehending the greatness, gentleness of His touch until it is gone. But what if instead of moving further away from Him, you moved in a little closer…what if you drew near to Him? Know that God does not have “space” issues…He likes for you to be as close as possible. So why not draw near and feel the warmth of His light? As glorious as the Lord is from afar, He is even more spectacular the closer you get and the more you get to know Him. Today move a little closer to the Lord, draw near to Him…then watch how He coaches, teaches, mentors you in order to build you up for the glory of His Kingdom.

Believe Again

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.

- Philippians 1:29-30, NKJV

In this season, let us believe again in the glory of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; especially, in the love provided in Him and through Him. While the world may be a mess today, it was and will continue to be so; however, God’s love for us is exemplified in Jesus’ action on the cross. His life, death, and resurrection provide hope to an otherwise hopeless people held captive by the bondage of sin. Fortunately God’s faithfulness towards His people and His extension of grace and mercy allow each of us to live today. Wow, what an assume and mighty God we serve. It is far to easy to mumble about Jesus being the only suitable/acceptable sacrifice, but if we truly believe in the death and the resurrection…believe in the love that initiated the act and performed the act…then can we believe again in the restorative power of the actions on the cross…knowing that nothing on this world (seen or unseen) can or will ever stop God’s love from lifting us above any/all situations. As we put self to death, let us collectively rise with our Lord, glorying in His strength and moving with confidence to His calling. Let us believe again that He is Lord over our lives and that He will never leave nor forsake us.

And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”

Are you in a place where you believe God provides for your every need? Know that while seasons come and seasons go, the blessings of the Lord are from everlasting to everlasting and the God you serve neither sleeps, nor slumbers - He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep (Psalms 121:3-4, NKJV). He is ever present and both willing and able to uplift you from wherever “here” is. Understand that it is the Lord Who keeps you, in the midst of a storm or throughout the harvest, His hand will uplift you and sustain you - The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore (Psalms 121:5-8, NKJV). The Lord is your provider and you do well to remember that it is He Who establishes and changes accordingly, including the seasons and authorities - “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him (Daniel 2:20-22, NKJV). So when all seems lost, who and what are you looking to in this season for provision? If the answer is anything other than the Lord, then perhaps you need to look again for only He can provide an “on time” ram for a “right now” situation.

As you look at the “hill” that is today’s obstacle make God, not the hill, your focal point. In doing so you will realize that your help is greater than your circumstance and His strength/resolve more so than any problem. As you look to the hill acknowledge Who made “it” (regardless of who or what it is) and know that God’s power far exceeds that of the hill presiding before you. Truthfully you ought to (but probably aren’t or won’t) the hill for because of “it” you now have the opportunity to witness God’s grace upon your life - So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” (Zechariah 4:6-7, NKJV). Today stand in awe of God’s grace and mercy upon your life as you look toward the seemingly insurmountable hill before you believing until the end that your help comes from the Lord and He will deliver you.

He Is Good

Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

- Psalms 73:1-3, NIV

Many times Christians see God as “good” up until the point something unfavorable comes up in their lives. Looking to the right, looking to the left they often compare/contrast their individual circumstances with those they feel are comparable to them. Unfortunately throughout this envious, jealous, and prideful tirade they often lose sight of how they truly see God – good. So the question is that if “your” heart sees God as “good”, then why can’t you trust Him to prosper your way as with the others? Notice how the Psalmist speaks to God’s goodness, but alludes to how he almost missed out on it because of pride. Christians do well to be mindful of this lesson because far too often they look to the right, to the left, yet forget to look above…failing to realize that all goodness comes from above. Today acknowledge that He is good to you and good for you…even when things are the darkest because He does not change!

Take His Hand

Today take hold of God’s hand and allow His grace to uplift you from the pit of despair. Allow His love to be the foundation for a new and fresh beginning that is not only built to last, but survive every physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual hardship. Then allow Him to guide you down the path of righteousness as His light illuminates the way you should go - I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you (Psalms 32:8, NIV). Today take His hand and never let go faithfully believing until the end that He will never leave you nor forsake you…then be strengthened through His mercy as He elevates you from the woes, fears, anxieties, and troubles of this world - And David said to Gad, “I am in great distress. Please let us fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are great; but do not let me fall into the hand of man” (2 Samuel 24:14, NKJV).

Friend or Foe

It’s sometimes confusing distinguishing just who is/isn’t on your side when you’re being admonished, but know that only one (spoiler: not the world or its ruler) has your best interest in mind…while the other has one hand in your pocket and the other ready to push you over/stab you in the back. When you look at it through that narrative it’s easy to see who truly is your friend and who truly is your foe…but unfortunately life is never quite so simple. The heart’s desire is aligned with the treasures it seeks…more often than not blurring the lines of right and wrong. This is why Jesus requires His followers to shift from the elementary concept of “self” and place their focus/attention on God (selfish to selfless) that their desires may be that of God. Now this is not to say that you cannot have ambitions; rather, that those desires/wants are led by God’s Spirit and enabled through His Word. So with discernment being the key to your success understand there is much more than meets the eye when it comes to determining who is your friend or foe.

Joyful Restoration

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.

- Psalms 126:1-6, NIV

You have an amazing joy inside of you that no one and nothing can or will ever be able to take away. This joy stems from God’s hand snatching you out of death’s path and placing you back in His arms that you may live. What a glorious occasion to give Him praise for such a joyful restoration…one that provides peace to your heart, mind, body, and soul. Understand that what was once a far off dream is now a reality…what was once a hopeless cause is now a reality. Give glory to His name as your tears and sorrows have been replaced with the Lord’s joy…He has restored you by His grace, kept you through His mercy, and carried you in His love. Know that this restoration is not of this world, it was not birthed by it, nor earned through it; as a result, the things of the world are not responsible for its upkeep, nor for its repossession. In other words, the joy God placed inside you is not up for bidding, subjection, rejection, or negotiation unless you allow someone/something to snatch it from you - My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand (John 10:29, NKJV). However, when was the last time you thanked Him for restoring you? Perhaps you can start by letting someone know the glorious things He has done for you and is doing through you…then watch how your heart is so overcome by recalling such a joyful restoration that you can’t help but thank and praise Him.

What Does He See

And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord..

What does God see when He looks upon the Earth and see you? Surely God is Who He says He is and sees all…so what does He see when He looks at you? Does He see the world and all of its strife, anger, envy, and jealousy…or perhaps He sees a man/woman after His own heart? Not something always pondered upon in the midst your thoughts, wants, and wishes, but absolutely should be one of the things prioritized each and every single day you are blessed with breath in your lungs. Know that you are God’s creation, His workmanship, created for His good works [For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10, NKJV)]… not the world’s. God looked upon the world and was displeased with what He saw, yet bestowed His grace upon Noah because of what He saw in Him. Understand that just because the world chooses to lean in a direction not of God doesn’t mean you must follow suit; rather, you must hold onto your faith in God’s promises believing until the end that He rewards those who diligently adhere to His commands, His righteousness. If the Lord placed His judgment upon the world today would you find grace in His eye or His wrath? What would He see in you?

Set The Example

Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

What a world we live in when the people who live in it don’t believe in God, nor conduct themselves in a Godly manner, yet can still see His glory through us! How magnificent is it that God’s light shines through His people so that even the darkest of hearts might see the move of God? God’s ability to use the seemingly insignificant and transform it into something relevant is just a small sample of His greatness. It is this greatness that resides so deeply in what we do or fail to do that it significantly impacts the world. Understand that as the Lord’s light beams, we are charged with spreading His light…His Word, as well as, illuminating the paths of those around us. Know that where there is light there is no darkness…and this is specifically why we must set the example in all we do (word and deed) and not fall prey to darkness. Imagine if we are the first and last thing this world views…then wonder whether or not our actions illuminated or further darkened their paths. Be mindful of your surroundings and the impact our actions have upon them. Today let us set the example in all our actions that we may bring light to darkness and glory to God’s name.

Reward

“‘Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”

- Exodus 19:5-6, NIV

While God loves all of His people He has placed His favor upon those who obey His commands. So many times people turn from God believing that the cost of their sacrifice is too great; however, fully understanding the cost of sacrifice God rewards obedience. Standing before God’s people is the same choice presented to the Israelites during Moses’ time: obey and receive His favor upon all things. Out of all His people, all His creations, He is for and with those who willingly obey His commands…those who out of love choose to leave behind self for something greater than flesh and carnality. The challenge though is whether or not “you” are willing to wait for the reward, or be just as the others and surrender to the flesh’s desires in lieu of enduring until His blessings manifest. While God’s love is predicated on so much more than what His people can ever provide, it is magnified through the obedience of those same people (love = obedience in action). God is in the blessing business, but are “you” willing to press beyond the cost of sacrifice in order to receive the reward of obedience - Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise (Hebrews 10:35-36, NKJV). If so then allow His Word to touch you and His Spirit to move you…then watch how you begin to operate in an entirely new level for the glory of God’s Kingdom.

Prosperity In Captivity

This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

- Jeremiah 29:4-8, NIV

Are you being held hostage by the schemes, plots, threats, and shenanigans of the world? Do you feel as though its grip upon you has you such that your entire life is being sucked out of you to the point where you are defeated? Do you feel as though that “this” situation has you so tied up that even the most skilled negotiator would have a hard time freeing you from captivity? Has your despair taken you to a place where you can’t even hope in, much less hold onto the promises of God? What if you were told today that with God there is prosperity in captivity…would you believe it? Lots of questions today surrounding your life and the things that are impacting it; however, of the utmost importance is your ability to comprehend who you are in the midst of these struggles and Who God is to you and them. Fairly easy when everything is prospering and things are going your way; however, much different when any/everything seems to be holding you back. Fortunately when you are led by God’s hand, you are also protected by it…in other words the same hand that placed you into your current situation is the same that will protect you, uplift you, and prosper you. Understand that God’s purpose for you extends well beyond just you and in spite of your current hardships He (not the world) has placed you in the best position to not only flourish, but to bring hope to the hopeless. Today take God’s hand and allow His peace (not your situation, circumstance, or problem) to overtake you that you may prosper even in the midst of your struggles [Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7, NKJV)].… then watch how His grace upon your life opens doors for others to witness His glory.

God has planted a mighty seed in you, but are you willing to allow it to blossom in “its” proper season. So much of the Bible revolves around your faith in Him, your hope in His promises, and your love for Him…believing all along the way that He is Who He says He is, and that He will do what He says He will do - “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it" (Isaiah 55:10-11, NKJV). However, just as a seed only yields a full harvest at the appointed time/appointed season, so too will the promises of a faithful God only spring forth at the appropriate time and place. This is why Kingdom builders must cling to the Word of God, wait patiently, and endure throughout it all…steadfastly believing in what has already been established in their hearts - Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand (James 5:7-8, NKJV). Can you believe the riches of the kingdom are manifested in His Word and that through the Holy Spirit you can/will unlock them all as long you faithfully walk in His will? If so, then allow God’s light to manifest through your patience and perseverance in order to be an example of the faithfulness of His love - Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer (Romans 12:11-12, NIV).

Denial

I will lay down my life for Your sake.” Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.”

Are you heading in the same direction as your Lord or are you going to the beat of a different drum? Know that many Christians today are suffering from a bad case of denial in that they say they love the Lord, but their hearts are far off - Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men’ (Matthew 15:7-9, NKJV). Likewise it is this same group of Christians who scoffs at Peter for denying knowing Jesus three times, yet when the world’s pressure is applied to their lives, their Church, and their faith, they compromise the very doctrine that was established by the blood of Christ. Your denial encompasses the totality of your essence, and since your body is His, any/all things (big or small) that are misaligned with His will are simply another version of denial. As a result, you cannot follow Him where He is going because you must lay down your life (deny self) in order to gain His. So are you in denial? Perhaps it is time to examine just how much of you has truly decreased that He might be increased…

Wake Up

Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words. And when He returned, He found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him.

Do you find yourself asleep at the wheel when you are supposed to be moving for the Lord? Perhaps not literally, but spiritually your actions may be dormant or you may be caught napping when you should be vigilant. But ask yourself how can or will you ever see the Lord and the fullness of His glory if your heart, mind, body, and soul are all switched off? More is required of you than just a “check the block” mentality if you are going to serve the Lord. It’s quite ironic the requirements you place upon He Who neither sleeps nor slumbers, yet you can’t give Him that “spiritual” hour He requires (in prayer, fasting, attendance, etc.). Think about that the next time you go to the carpet and complain about the timeliness of God’s response. Know that your Lord’s timing is always on point and that He is ever-present, you simply need to wake up and be vigilant in order to receive the fullness of His glory - Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light” (Ephesians 5:14, NKJV).

All About Trust

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Trust is the cornerstone of our faith allowing us to say “yes” when/where others say “no.” It allows us to believe, as well as, grow in love through admonishment and encouragement. Trust pushes aside pride acknowledging we may not agree, understand, or like, but will comply. So if trust is the cornerstone of Christian faith, how is the foundation of “your” faith? The above scripture states you must trust God with “all” of your heart…in other words you either do or don’t. Therefore today’s challenge is to trust God with your heart regardless of what you see before you…believing until the end that He is Who He says He is, and that He’ll do what He says He’ll do…even for you.

Who have you told today about the glory of God? The tone for most conversations is set within the first couple sentences uttered from an individual’s mouth. Your declaration to whomever you come into contact has the potential to leave a lasting impression (good or bad). So how much better can interactions be if the first thing you utter is about the glory of the Lord - Nebuchadnezzar the king, to all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: peace be multiplied to you. I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me. How great are His signs, and how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation (Daniel 4:1-3, NKJV). Nothing radical or controversial; however, what if God’s people greeted one another and those operating in the world with love and peace…would the world be a better place…would these same words leave a lasting impression…perhaps make an impact? Understand that when you use God’s words, things happen to facilitate the move of His Spirit. When you declare the glory of the Lord you promote His light into a dark world...providing God’s hope to any/all hopeless situations. Today declare the signs and wonders of God amongst His people…then watch how His light illuminates the path of the lost back to Him - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer (Psalms 19:14, NKJV).

Guard Your Heart

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Guard your heart above all things believing that it first belongs to God and not to the world or its things. Know that in the natural your heart is the epicenter for all things...serving as the very lifeline to the rest of the body performing its task/purpose until the end even under the most austere and arduous conditions. Your heart is rarely fickle, rather operates according to the principles you abide in: garbage in, garbage out…good in, good out. Unfortunately because of its steadfast loyalty, the heart is often overlooked or taken for granted…rarely attended to until there is a problem. Likewise Christians often neglect the heart in regards to spiritual matters…never fully comprehending its impact on circulating the blood of Christ from head to toe…self to others…natural to spirit. Surely if they did, then they would guard their respective hearts with the utmost care believing until the end that God has not only stored up His grace within it, but touched it with His love that all might bear witness to His glory. This is why you cannot just simply give away, neglect, or forsake your heart, rather protect it all cost that the peace and gentleness of Christ may spring forth from it. Understand that what you cherish/treasure guides your heart [“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19-21, NKJV)], and now remember that garbage in equates to garbage out…a heart saturated in filth that eventually clogs and thwarts blood flow leading to eventual failure. So you have you reached the point of heart failure? If so then know that Christ’s Power Restores (CPR) and that His breath (Word) will resuscitate you and His blood will save you…all you have to do is give Him your heart. However, if you aren’t at the point of heart failure, then guard your heart and allow His Word and His Spirit to routinely maintain your heart that it may continue to operate according to its purpose. Today love the Lord with all your heart and give it all to Him…allowing nothing and no one take it away.

Touch Me

A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.

One touch from Jesus can change your life forever, but are you willing to let Him touch you - A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed (Mark 1:40-42, NIV). How magnificent is the Lord’s compassion that He is willing to provide peace to your heart and then healing to your soul…all through one simple touch, one simple acknowledgement of Jesus as Lord and Savior - that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9, NKJV). So will you let Him touch you and be cleansed of your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual infirmities? So many of the world’s issues and problems stem from its people’s allegiance to worldly remedies for unworldly circumstances/situations. Misplaced hope and unfounded faith in systems that are contrary to the will of God have left a longing people dangling…ever seeking and ever wanting for something greater. However, God’s glory has never left His people; as a result, there is always hope for those who place their trust in Jesus Christ…those who are willing to reach out and touch the Lord. How about you? Are you in midst of a fiery trial and in desperate need of a touch? Are you willing to do whatever it takes just to receive one life altering touch? If so, then proclaim to the Lord, “Touch me”…then watch how He provides an on time cleansing that significantly reshapes your life - When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well” (Mark 5:27-28, NKJV).

Invitation

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

- Revelations 22:17, NKJV

The glory of the Lord is upon us and we know this because He has set before us an open invitation to refresh our souls. What He offers no one and nothing can take away, yet many stare from afar wondering if such a glorious invitation includes “them.” Fortunately God’s love is without limits, without boundaries…and is resistant to any worldly quotas. So the question becomes, “Why aren’t His people taking Him up on such an invitation”? Perhaps the answer can be found in those who have accepted the invitation and have not properly promoted it - How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? (Romans 10:14-15, NKJV). While the message of salvation doesn’t quite bring in the TV ratings or crowds that financial prosperity does, it is even more relevant to God’s people. Understand that the very peace of mind these same people seek through financial prosperity is fostered through the eternal peace of God’s love and grace…of which no money can ever buy, much less afford. Know that the gifts of God come with God…and He’s still in the giving business. However, they can have the things of God and have nothing…have nothing, but God and have it all. Today let us extend God’s invitation to any/all God sends us to, whether they receive or not, and allow God’s light to illuminate their way…then watch how God’s Word satiates a hungry and thirsty people

Latter

We often find ourselves holding onto whatever possible as we press through the struggle. However, in the midst of it all we often look towards the former and lament…weeping for a better tomorrow while still hanging onto what has passed. Unfortunately it is at this point that “we” separates from “I”…often casting doubt upon the direction in which you are going because “we” simply just can’t/won’t go any further. However, if you are willing to simply obey the voice of the Lord and adhere to His call, then the fulfillment of His promise will more than compensate for the sacrifice of your struggle…but are you willing to wait for the latter blessing in spite of the former hardship - Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise (Hebrews 10:36-37, NKJV) . Is this journey truly worth of the hassle or are you simply chasing windmills? Know that God is Who He says He is and will do what He says He will do, but do you believe you are who He says you are…and that you can/will do what He says you will do? Difficult questions for difficult times, but the bottom line is that God has established your way and all that is involved in it…working and orchestrating “all” things for His good…you simply have to trust Him - And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Today continue to press while you are in the “middle” of “it” knowing that God’s blessing awaits you at the finish line.

The Length He Will Go

For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord will name. You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; but you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married. For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

- Isaiah 62:1-5, NKJV

Rejoice in the Lord and acknowledge the length He will go to restore and establish you. Regardless of where you are or where you’ve been, God will re-establish you if you are willing to allow Him to be your God? Some will ask “in what way have we not made Him our God” while others will state “He is my God”; however, God is asking you to sacrifice “self” in order to gain Him (lose all of “you” to gain all of Him). At face value it is an inequitable trade right? To be frank yes it is because the return on investment is immeasurable compared to what you are giving/investing in kind. Understand the length He will go to pull you out of the lowest of pits is to send in not just a rescue team, but a replacement in kind (Jesus) that you may be set free from captivity. In other words the length He’s willing to go for “you” is to lay down His life for “you”…one for one exchange. Subsequently when He asks you to deny yourself and to take up your cross daily, He is looking to re-establish you in His glory and not the world’s filth. Today ask yourself the length you’re willing to go to be restored and re-established in God’s glory...then simply extend your hands to the Lord that He may show you the way.

Run Route

You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.

- Galatians 5:7-8, NIV

Some people have been running so long that they have forgotten who and what they’re running for; however, it is important to periodically examine your run route. Know that when you run for Jesus, you’re running for the glory of the Kingdom, and that in spite of the hurdles you’ll always have endurance to make it to the finish line. He is your strength, so allow Him to coach you until the end. However, when you run for the world you run for self. Understand that while you will meet many folks on this route, not all will stand by you and even fewer will participate with you. Be mindful of those who seek to dissuade you from running down the former route in support of the latter, for surely these people may look good or sound good, but are no good…and certainly not good for you. Realize these are the lot who will convince you to forsake the extra laps (time at church), the strict diet (consuming the Bible/the fruits of the Spirit), and participating in the race (your daily walk in Christ). Likewise, these are the same ones that after failing to convince or persuade you to quit, continuously place hurdles and stumbling blocks along your route to thwart you from achieving what God has set out to accomplish in you. However, as daunting as this race called life is, God is calling upon you to run it in His name and for His glory. So don’t you quit on Him because He certainly has not quit on you - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified (Romans 8:28-30, NKJV). Stay the course by running God’s route.

Worth It

And it happened, when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had brought their plot to nothing, that all of us returned to the wall, everyone to his work. So it was, from that time on, that half of my servants worked at construction, while the other half held the spears, the shields, the bows, and wore armor; and the leaders were behind all the house of Judah. Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon. Every one of the builders had his sword girded at his side as he built. And the one who sounded the trumpet was beside me.

We spend a lot of time dabbling and toiling in “this” and “that”, but have “you” ever questioned whether or not it was all worth it? Some of us are asking that very question as God’s call for “more” becomes louder and clearer. So is God’s love worth you rising early and working late for His glory? Is His Kingdom worth your attention to detail? Is His gift of salvation worth you outwardly displaying the inward manifestation of change stemming from His Word and Spirit? Is it worth it to fend off the wily schemes of the enemy while simultaneously walking in His righteousness? Is it worth it to exude God’s love, His tender grace, and mercy in a hate-filled world? Is it worth embracing His light and walking in it in order to signal His people out of darkness? Finally, is His name worth fighting for? Understand that we (including those operating in the world) are quick to fuss and fight until the end about superfluous things, yet for a righteous cause we are too “tired”, “unmotivated”, or too “busy.” However, know that God sent His best in Jesus Christ (the unblemished for the blemished) believing that even though we were/are mired in filth (sin) “we” are worth saving. So in other words God believed/believes His people are worth fighting for. This is specifically why He has called you this day, this hour, this very moment to change…because you are worth another chance. It is this change accompanied by another chance that is guiding you to His calling, that His glorious light will shine in you and through you as you move through this work in order to bring hope to His people. Today fight for His glory that His love might manifest as a beacon of hope to His people.

Does the world love you for all that you do, are doing, and will do? Does it welcome you in with open arms because you walk in line with its tenets? If so then perhaps it’s time you examined just who and what you are trying to please. Know that as a Christian this thing called life isn’t a popularity contest in that you are not here to please the world, rather to obey and please God. Understand that as good as it feels to be lauded and exalted by the people/things of the world it all comes to nothing if you lose your soul - When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels” (Mark 8:34-38, NKJV). Fortunately, God’s walk is not a lonely one just set apart from the things of this world and replaced with His righteousness. As a result, let God and Him alone define who and what you are…knowing that in the end His opinion is the only one that truly matters.

God’s promise to those who willingly leave behind carnality and return to Him is love and peace. Quite an extraordinary concept for those of us who have ventured so far off righteousness’ path that it’s almost too good to be true. Most would proclaim that there’s no way that He’ll welcome me back; however, that’s exactly the message of the cross and the point that every Christian must pass along to all who dare to believe. Far too often we look to the outward appearance/manner of men and women, either exalting or dismissing them in the process…but thankfully God has a unique viewpoint about the hearts of men and women that extends well beyond what we see with or naked/carnal eyes. The God of “possible” is also the God of peace and love; as a result, He sees great and extraordinary when others simply see good or bad. Understand that God’s desire is that all are afforded the opportunity to return from where they have ventured back to the place where they belong – in His loving arms. Today let us believe that God is Who He says He is, that He’ll do what He says He’ll do, and that He’ll do it for His people [The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9, NKJV)]… then let bear witness to His glory as His light illuminates the paths of His people as they return to His Kingdom.

I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty. ‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”

What do you see where you are standing? Do you see prosperity, increase, and favor…or do all you see is hopelessness and despair? Perhaps what you see is based on your location? Understand God wants to prosper you and just like real estate, it’s all about, location, location, location. Know that if you aren’t where God wants you to be, then you need to get to that place. If “this place” is not growing the seed He has planted in you then perhaps it is time to get to the right location. “This place” (you know the place where you dwell) should be wrapped in God’s blessings…His grace and mercy should abide here - “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty. ‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty” (Haggai 2:6-9, NIV). Today make “this place”, no matter how seemingly insignificant it may appear to be, God’s place, and watch how His bountiful blessings exceed any and all of your expectations - Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly ( Job 8:7, NKJV).

The world will tell you to go about life your own way and not to let anyone/anything stand in your way. Unfortunately “your” way might not be the “right” way and while it’s bad enough that it may cause you to falter, it’s even worse when it leads others down a dark path. Know that while “your” way may be paved with all the best intentions, it simply isn’t God’s way. In other words “your” way is built upon your perceptions, motives, and desires…none by themselves are that of God and are fallible at best. However, God’s way is that of love and peace…encompassing more than merely self and resulting in prosperity for all who dare to receive it. God’s way is inclusive in that His desire is for all to receive His touch vice the exclusive nature of “self.” Understand that God’s way is the only way to receive internal peace, everlasting love, and eternal life. So there’s your way and then there’s God’s way…but only His way will get you to where you need to and (and most importantly) desire to go. Today make God’s way yours…then watch how His way brings renewed meaning to your life.

Elevate Your Praise

Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,to carry out the sentence written against them - this is the glory of all his faithful people. Elevate your praise to the Lord and know that has done great things for you…and has even better in store if you simply surrender your heart, mind, body, and soul to Him. Perhaps somewhat difficult while you are enduring the struggles of “here” this day, this hour, this very moment, but absolutely the “eccentric” thing required to initiate your breakthrough from whatever “it” is that has you bound. Life will always have its heavyweight contenders itching to knock you out and keep you down; however, as long you are connected to God through Christ, you may lose but you’re never defeated. Unfortunately this is not a worldly concept, rather a Kingdom mindset predicated on your love and praise for God. Your victory IS with God…all you have to do is say “yes” and “amen.” You don’t have to understand it (the how and when are irrelevant), you just have to believe it…and once you do, you can’t help but praise Him. Today let your praise be your weapon of choice as you go into battle…then watch how God’s glory overcomes each and every one of your enemies, situations, and circumstances.

How is your connection with God? Is it as fuzzy as your cell phone when you’re miles away from a tower or perhaps non-existent because you’ve terminated your service? Know that as with your cell phone company, service is available whether you are connected or not…in other words “it” is out there and available for use as long as you stay connected. God is looking for “you” to re-establish your connection with Him that His signal, His voice, and all of His data may be transmitted to you clearly regardless of where you find yourself. So are you willing to re-connect or have you grown so accustomed to drop/missed calls and bad signals that you no longer care about your reception? Understand there is no clearer signal and no better reception than with God [For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints (1 Corinthians 14:33, NKJV)] , yet you continue to follow the ways of “they”, “them”, and “those” in choosing a “cheaper” and “unclear” plan. God’s connection to you is love and peace, not anger and evil. In choosing His plan you will not only secure the former, but extinguish the latter as well. Today is a great day to check on your connection with God…knowing that even if it has been severed, there are several technicians within the Church who can help re-establish/reconnect you to Him.

It’s easy to be so caught up in life’s activities that you believe you’re going at it alone. However, know that your life, your essence, your very being depends upon the Lord…in other words you are “dependent”, not “independent.” Not a very popular viewpoint from a carnal standpoint, but absolutely the mindset you must take throughout your walk in Christ. John 15 clearly walks each and every Christian down this path stating that you are nothing/have nothing aside from Him; however, with and through Him you can have it all. Understand that your salvation doesn’t just equate to your liberation from whatever had you bound, but also is your willing acceptance of His lordship over you…with the latter of the two being the hardest for most to come to grips with. Fortunately the God you serve is benevolent and full of love; resulting a dependency akin to that of a newborn and parent. The innocence of that child allows him/her to receive the blessings of the father/mother without the urges or turning of pride. God seeks the same posture of His people today that they may receive His grace and mercy in all things. Today humble yourself before the Lord by acknowledging that you are dependent upon His touch in every aspect of your life…then watch how His love puts your life into the right perspective.

Overcoming The Multitude

Sometimes more is less, less is more; especially in regards to your struggles with the enemy. Know that if you are incessantly warding off “this” and “that” from “they”, “them”, and “those” then you are just like the dog chasing its tail – working “a lot”, but not necessarily working “hard.” Truth is as long you continue to go at this fight with your own might, strength, and wisdom you’ll always be backed into a corner…attempting, but never truly finding a way out. However, God has a simple plan for you that is more of less…less of you and more of Him. Overcoming the multitude is as simple as letting go of self (pride and situation) and lifting your praise to Him. Now to the world this seems counter-intuitive, yet for Christians this is the strongest response to every situation…including “this” fight. Your praise in the midst of the struggle signals to the enemy that you believe in the Lord’s deliverance regardless of how big the situation, how hard the fight. Overcoming the multitude through praise means that your will is set aside for God’s touch upon your problem…the key is your faith overcoming your attitude. So how are you looking at the multitudes that continue to surround you? Are you looking to them as another opportunity to praise God or to rebuke Him? Understand that only the former opens your heart, mind, body, and soul to the splendor of His glory as He works miracles on your behalf. Now compare that to the works of your own hands and realize just how far you are/aren’t able to go once the multitudes engulf you. Today give God ALL the glory, honor, and praise knowing that His mercy endures forever and that He’ll perfect that which concerns you - The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands (Psalms 138:8; NKJV).

With A Purpose

Ever notice the importance of time; in particular its significance depending upon what side of the fence you find yourself on. Notice how when life presents opportunities in your favor or to your liking how you move out with a purpose…or in other words you move quickly/timely, laying aside excuses. Under these circumstances seemingly nothing and no one will deter you from obtaining what you seek…including the time associated with the time between being energized and actually executing it. Likewise the time associated with actually performing said task is almost irrelevant because it truly is to your advantage or your liking. However, given the opposite (i.e. when life presents opportunities that are seemingly not in your favor) you tend to move a wee bit slower as if without a purpose. Time becomes irrelevant when these set of circumstances present themselves as neither the events, nor the outcome are deemed worthy of your prompt time, nor your efforts. This, the latter, is exactly the frame of reference most Christians find themselves in these days…always wanting and seeking, but never being bothered/motivated enough to actually move with a purpose when it comes to the things of God. However, you must not be ensnared or entangled into the grips and deception that the enemy continues to lay down as he seeks to thwart you from accomplishing God’s will. Rather, you must move with a sense of purpose in order to conduct God’s business; furthermore, you must move with the same conviction as if the actions are your own ideas and thoughts. Such is the mindset of the Kingdom seekers that time is the most precious commodity that cannot be replenished; as a result, you must move in God’s direction believing that no obstacle, person, or excuse will hinder/thwart it from being done. Understand that because you are called with a purpose, you are also directed with a purpose, resulting in you moving out with a purpose. Today make haste when it comes to performing the will and actions of God…then watch how nothing and no one will deter you from obtaining what you seek.

Deception

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

Let us not be deceived by what is laid before us, but rather look towards the promises of God to discern the truth about our situations. While many things will be written, asserted, proclaimed, and displayed the truth only lies in God and His Word - Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32, NKJV). Many will come from the pulpit with proclamations and many more will report of this and that, but God is seeking out the faithful…those who will abide in Him (no in fleshly/self gratifying words) until the very end, never wavering in faith and steadfastly devoting themselves to an abundant life in and through Him. So we must all take heed to the devil’s deception that has “lies” written all over it - You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it (John 8:44, NKJV). Individually and collectively we must resist the temptation to “give-in” or “surrender” to the convictions of a carnal world; rather, trust in He who is willing and able to save all. We must believe in His Word and It shall come to pass no matter how long It takes or what “today” looks like. We must stop settling for cheap knock offs when the real thing has already been purchased and given to us freely. Let us move away from the lies and deceit, and begin to glory in the truth as His love sets us free. Today let’s be mindful of our surroundings, knowing the devil seeks to deceive us at every opportunity, and let us embrace the glory of God’s Word so that we will no longer be deceived, but rather walk in His light.

Live Fully In Christ

It goes without saying that when you receive a gift, the expectation is that you use it. Givers gift items to receivers with expectation that what is given is received and used to the fullest; however, many of us are only receiving Christ half halfheartedly. While we willingly receive the fullness of His salvation, we are reluctant to receive the fullness of His lordship. But what if the same spectacular God that affords us the riches and freedom of salvation is the same extraordinary God that will set us free from the conformity of this world…if and only if we live fully in Christ? So what exactly does that mean? Well if you live fully in Christ, then you are willing to receive the “fullness” of God’s blessings – salvation and lordship…facilitating an incomparable walk in Him, rooted in faith - As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving (Colossians 2:6-7, NKJV). So are willing to use God’s gift to the fullest [Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning (James 1:17, NKJV)]… if so live fully in Christ today and watch how He directs you walk in the ways of righteousness.

No Shame

Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Stuck at the crossroad between self and denial, your Lord, your God is asking you to choose between life and death. Not a simple choice when familiarity and comfort are at the forefront, yet that is exactly what is required in order to change your situations and circumstances. Know that when you cried God listened, but now He requires the same of you. So when He speaks are you willing to stand still long enough in this “place” to receive a word from God? Seems a rather silly question, but to solicit help in the first place is an admission that you need assistance…hence the crossroad you find yourself stuck at this day, this hour, this very moment. Unfortunately your pride and ego tend to lean in the opposite direction of where God is trying to take you. Familiarity with self and all its ways has led to mistrust of all things that follow down the road of righteousness…with shame and guilt following in hot pursuit. All these lay and wait as God continues to illuminate the direction you should go. However, the shame of today, much less your life, has you believing that no savior can ever remove you from where you’ve been and certainly won’t be able to stop what is yet to come from where you are going. Fortunately many have come to this very juncture and have chosen to move in the Lord’s direction understanding that He has taken a chance on them. They serve as living examples as the depth and breadth of God’s love for His people…and His people remain confident in such a love forgoing self knowing there is no shame proclaiming the works of their benevolent God because the life they are saving might not be their own. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus [There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit (Romans 8:1, NKJV)]; therefore, take a step in the right direction forsaking the world’s scorn for God’s love…then watch how you boldly proclaim the works of the Lord without shame knowing that He has delivered you from all things!

The Cost of Pride

In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord. In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

Anyone who seeks Christ must put aside pride. While that seems simple enough, far too many of us fail to realize the true impacts of their prideful ways - Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18, NIV). Pride places self before others, always wanting, always seeking, but never relenting or assisting. It is pride that allows the flesh to manifest and run amuck…when left unattended it arrogantly moves to its own calling. The fact that it is self serving is bad enough, but the real cost of pride is separation from God - The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished (Proverbs 16:5, NIV). Now life is pretty difficult as is, but even more so without God [“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5, NKJV)]… so why even risk going about it solo? So the next time that your flesh starts to rise and pride consumes you, think about your separation anxiety from the Lord…then allow His Spirit to facilitate love and humility in order to avoid a permanent fall - Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud. Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord (Psalms 16:19-20, NIV).

The Way of The Righteous

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

- Psalms 1:1-3, NKJV

Notice the frankness of this scripture as it clearly lays out the way of the righteous - Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper (Psalms 1:1-3, NKJV). Far too often we look at the immediate circumstances of the ungodly/unrighteous believing that these individuals are getting over; however, we would do well to remember that we serve an ever present God who sees all things - And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Hebrews 4:13, NKJV). Understand that prosperity is in God’s hands and His alone…nothing out of His will, seen or unseen, will last - “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned” (John 15:5-6, NKJV). Unfortunately what is often seen is directly opposite of what is promised. Our eyes our constantly consumed with encountering and experiencing the success of carnality; however, we must hold on tight to His promises…always remembering the plight of the Israelites who through their lustful desires turned from God and sought the spoils of an unrighteous people. However, you the mature Christian must always point your heart towards God, exercising your faith in Him, believing He is Who He says He is - “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Hebrews 6:19-21, NKJV). Today point your heart towards the way of God’s righteousness and know you will lack no “good” thing - Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing (Psalms 34:17-18, NKJV).

Spiritual Currency

God has given you a line of credit called faith…but are you maxing it out in the same manner as your credit cards? Understand that your faith is spiritual currency afforded to you that is insured and assured by the grace of God. This credit line allows access to things you cannot physically acquire through your own wealth, and extends your “purchasing” power well beyond what your naked eye can see - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1, NKJV). Unlike your natural credit line though, God does not charge you interest…and your credit line is only limited by the measure in which you believe in His promises. Know that it is this spiritual currency that will never leave you poor, never leave you hungry, never leave you alone…so the question is are you maxing out your spiritual credit line today or are you still incurring excessive interest from carnality’s loans?

Tipping Point

For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.

Many Christians are at a tipping point such that while they seek out a "good" endstate, their methodology is far from it; however, it's time for Christians to act, talk, and walk as Christ. The filling of the Holy Spirit necessitates a change and promotes commensurate ensuing actions. So in other words God's Spirit and His Word are the driving factors behind your motivation and not your flesh; specifically because the flesh is carnal by nature and will never cede to the Spirit. It is this same flesh that leads you to make choices that appear to be good, but are neither motivated by love, nor end in God's will. This is why your heart, mind, body, and soul must be continuously on Jesus because only through His example in God's Word and Spirit are you able to walk uprightly...never on your own or by fleshly means. Understand that God's glory is bigger than this "tipping" point! Know that the sufficiency of His grace is enough for you this day to not be overcome by evil, but to be engulfed by His love that you may serve as a light of hope in the midst of darkness. Receive His light and move in His righteousness that His peace, joy, and mercy are evident in everything you do that the world may know the love of Christ - But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil (1 Peter 3:14-17, NKJV).

God has not forgotten you, so do not forgot about Him or His promises - ‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah’ (Jeremiah 33:14, NKJV). Anything the Lord has promised will manifest…but will you have enough faith to endure until it surfaces - Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: “For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry.Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him” (Hebrews 10:35-38, NKJV)? Do not place your hope and trust in things seen in this world, rather put them in the unwavering Word of God - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23, NKJV). Avoid the Devil’s deception and trickery by clinging to the Lord’s commitment to you - Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6, NKJV). Embrace your faith in God…remember His love for you, and allow His Word and His Spirit to guide you to His promises…knowing all the while that you are not forgotten!

Know that in spite of the trials, tribulations, and hardships, it is the Lord Who has called you and it is He Who has not only established, but also equipped you to go forth in His name - For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified (Romans 8:29-30, NKJV). All that said, God has not left you empty holding onto empty promises, nor has He left you unequipped; rather, He has given His essence in the Holy Spirit [Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Today know that no matter what “it” is that you are going through, God has already established you for the occasion and believe that by His Word, you will overcome any/all obstacles for He is with you - What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things (Romans 8:31-32, NKJV).

Come Bearing Gifts

But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you.

It is so easy to take or to receive that we often forget to give in return. A simple thank you is often enough, but far too often overlooked. But if you come to any/all situations with the peace of God, both in word and deed, how much more will both parties be enriched by such a gift - But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you (Luke 10:5-6, NKJV) ? God has invited/is inviting you to His house, asking little to nothing in return. The doors to His sanctuary are open to those willing to walk through with thanksgiving and praise. And while the experience is pleasant and rewarding without you providing anything, how much more is the encounter enriched if you simply bestow upon His people the peace He has already afforded you. If you come bearing gifts (peace, love, joy, happiness, forgiveness, etc.) to the place where He is…the place where He has assigned His people, how much more enriched will a hurting body be healed by one bearing such gifts? Remember that it is easy to take, and even easier to forget to reciprocate; however, a great start is by providing God’s people with the peace that is inherent with operating in His will…exhibiting the fullness and glory of the manifestation of His Holy Spirit. Today come bearing the gift of peace regardless of the engagement or encounter [I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’ (Acts 20:35, NKJV)] …knowing that God’s grace and mercy will change every situation and circumstance.

What He Has Spoken

God is speaking into your hearing, but is your heart receiving what your ears are hearing, eyes receiving what He is showing. God’s Word was, is, and always will be the definitive source for your heart’s direction, desire, and wisdom. His Word is being spoken into your hearing, touching you from the crown of your head to sole of your feet, but are you receiving what He has spoken into your heart, mind, body and soul - “These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble” (John 16:1, NKJV). God’s message to you is one of love, triumph, and victory; however, it is in the midst of this road to elevation that you will experience trials and tribulations. However, if your heart receives His Word and your mind submits to His instructions, you will always be equipped, empowered, and encouraged to endure any trial, situation, or circumstance…leaning on the knowledge and wisdom of His infallible Word - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17, NIV). Today receive what God has spoken into your heart and allow His Word to reveal His glory through you.

If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

So many doors to choose from, so many options, but only one right choice - Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:7-10, NKJV) . Life provides you many doors to an infinite amount of possibilities and opportunities; however, not every opportunity is a good or right opportunity…and just as one door is open, others close because of what is done or failed to be done. In this season you must choose wisely and intensely scrutinize what you are consuming, as well as, the pastures in which you consume these fruits from. Know that both people and animals flock towards where there is subsistence…given the right circumstances and enough hunger, both humans and animals will consume things out of desperation that neither would consume in their “right” mind. Over time, if unchecked, both will resort to these sources out of habit vice necessity…leading to doors neither was ever intended to enter. This season is littered with shiny opportunities that look good, smell good, feel good, and taste good…and while they may be good to you, they aren’t good for you - So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings (Genesis 3:6-7, NKJV). Understand that God wants nothing but the best for you, and that no matter how hard or difficult the path ahead of you seems, His door is the only door that leads to salvation/eternal life. Today take advantage of the opportunity God has placed in front of you…open your eyes and see what He is presenting…then open the door to your heart so you may enter through His gates with thanksgiving.

We often question the meaning of death, but when looked at beyond the moment, it often provides the right occasion for friends and family to gather on one accord - These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers (Acts 1:14, NKJV) . Truly amazing how both birth and death (opposite ends of the spectrum) draw folks together…and perhaps it is this very attraction that God leverages to bring His people together. While we often celebrate birth, we in turn lament death; however, God’s grace and mercy are evident in both. Through the tragedy of Jesus’ death, God was able to reveal His glory and power through the resurrection and subsequently raised His people through the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Truly amazing how death and resurrection (life through death) unified a once divided and embattled people. Could it be that He is doing the same today? Know that the power of Christ’s birth into the world is not fully comprehend unless you believe in the power of His death and resurrection…while both are celebrated, don’t lose sight on how they build on one another. Understand that just as a few came to witness the birth of something awesome and spectacular in baby Jesus, far more would/will witness even greater through His death leading to a reborn body. Are you, in this season, embodying the death and resurrection of Christ by being reborn in His image…are you standing together with likeminded believers, in one place, on one accord, eagerly awaiting the empowerment, and move of the Holy Spirit? Then regardless of where you find yourself, regardless of the situation/circumstance, today…“this” place is the right occasion to continue in prayer for the unity and movement of God’s people [Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16, NKJV)] … knowing God uses times such as these to do extraordinary things for those who are gathered in His name…regardless of the occasion - Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:19-20, NKJV).

Perspective

It’s easy to lose perspective of life’s ups and downs when you think you’re going at it alone and the walls of life appear to be caving in. However, know that when you walk with Jesus, you never walk alone. Understand that while today doesn’t look quite the way you imagined it would, it certainly doesn’t look the way it should. As you continue your walk in Christ note that you have not earned day, nor can afford “this” day…much less deserve the things in and around it; yet the Lord still got you up today. From a Christian’s perspective that ought to be a moment of praise realizing that you woke up with all the fingers and toes you went to bed with. Add that your blood is still flowing and lungs still breathing, that’s quite a start to a day that you probably saw going differently. However, the truth of the matter is that if not for Christ’s blood, this day might not look anything like it does…much less even happen. So today it’s all about embracing the victory you have in Jesus believing until the end that you’ll never walk alone as long as your walk is in Christ Jesus...He will sustain you! How’s that for perspective?

Interesting how when God establishes your way, He also places people and situations around you to equip, empower, and encourage you. This is the glory of His touch in your walk in Christ...that His hand is always present and readily available to guide, steer, and uplift you. So stop looking at who isn't by your side and start focusing on the job at hand knowing that "Who" is with you (the Father, Son, Holy Spirit) is more than enough! Do not be silent, rather continue to speak the Word of God...then watch how things change because you have made the Lord your strength and His Word your guide.

Greater

What do you see in your reflection? Do you still see the former or you looking prophetically at what is to come? Perhaps somewhere in between the two lies the truth; however, your reflections ought to be that of “greater.” Understand that God’s purpose, His very desire, for you is that His magnificent light reflects in and through you…that the world (not just you) may experience greater (i.e. greater love, greater humility, greater compassion, greater resolve, greater strength, etc.). Know that you are God’s master temple and regardless of how good, bad, or ugly your former “self” was, with Him it’s not only better, but greater than the former. However, how you perceive such a change begins and ends with what you not only see in your reflection, but also in how you project it. While you continue to search for God’s “greater” in the midst of your struggle, perhaps it’s worth looking at your own reflection and see just what He’s doing in and through you…then watch how God’s glory reflects in your walk, your talk, and all of your conduct.

But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

- 2 Corinthians 2:14

There’s just something about Christians that allows them to stand out among the world’s population…whether they know it or not. Their walk, talk, and conduct all provide Kingdom reference points (good or bad) for all to observe/witness to the point where God’s fragrance ought to ooze out of their every action. While the world attempts to discern “your” fragrance, it’s pondering openly and secretly about “what’s that smell” that’s emitting from your general direction. So ask yourself whether or not you reek of worldly odor full of flesh/carnality or do you have a sweet Spirit-filled aroma that draws others close to God? Know that you may be the first or last encounter the world and its people have in regards to any/all things pertaining to God, His Kingdom, and His salvation…that said what you do or fail to do has lasting impacts upon God’s people - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16, NKJV). Today be that good, pleasant, and pleasing smell of God’s righteousness that draws His people closer to Him…then watch God’s glory manifest in your works.

Comfort To His People

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.

It’s time for God’s people to change the narrative of Who their Lord, their God is to them and those who would dare to believe. We live in a “what have you done for me lately” world filled with fleshly desires and carnal motives. As a result, the world (and it’s people) view things from that standpoint and refer to what they aren’t “receiving” vice what they “have” or have received…often overlooking the simple blessings that amount to much bigger things for them and those around them. Subsequently, Christians fall prey to such narratives and quickly forget their Kingdom benefits when “right now” seems far more appealing than God’s “in a little while.” Yet throughout all the commotion, discomfort, and everyday shenanigans, God gives comfort to His people through His everlasting love; resulting in access to His grace and mercy. Now while we can neither see nor touch such blessings, it’s important to note that without God’s hand upon our situations, our very existence (much less the outcome) would cease to be; however, He (Our Lord, Savior, and God) willingly chooses “us” to extend His blessings…even though we do not deserve them, can’t earn nor afford them. Know that God’s comfort is enough to assuage our impetuous nature and to move us from the world’s discontent and closer to His touch…knowing and believing that He takes great delight His people and will not rest until they are delivered.

Season of Trust

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

- Proverbs 3:5-6, NKJV

This is a season where God’s people celebrate the advent of their Lord and Savior. Likewise it is a season of trust believing in God’s Word and His promise to fulfill. However, trust is a two part deal and essentially a contract between multiple people. Know that God has us at His Word according Isaiah 55; however, do “you” believe Him and can He believe in you to deliver what is already operating deep inside you? A season of trust means that you acknowledge what God is giving is enough regardless of what “today” looks, smells, or feels like. It means that regardless of the world’s tone you walk and talk in the spiritually victorious manner that is commensurate with the coming of the King of Kings. Understand that this season is most importantly about believing that God’s love is such that He will span multiple generations to ensure that His people (including you) are delivered from death. Regardless of how long or the route it takes, your deliverance, your healing, your restoration, your increase, your elevation are all in His hand “this” season…all you have to do is trust Him in “this” season. Today trust the Lord with all your heart going beyond what you see and comprehend, then watch how He (not the world or your circumstances) directs your paths.

Not The Time To Give Up

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

- Luke 11:9-10, NKJV

Now is not the time to give up on God and His blessings. While today may not look quite like what was promised yesterday, it (today) still belongs to the Lord; as a result, all of the glory still belongs to Him. Prepare your heart to receive what He has in store and let not your eyes deceive you, rather firmly grip/hold onto the promises of God. Understand that in Jesus you have victory over this world [“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33, NIV)], in the Holy Spirit you have the encouragement to press onward towards the promises of God, and in God you have the sufficiency of grace to carry you on until these promises manifest. So never quit [And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me” (Genesis 32:26, NKJV)] keep praying until God’s glory manifests in your life and the lives of others. It truly comes down to two things: do you believe in the promises of God and how bad do you want them? God did not give you a spirit of fear [For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (1 Timothy 1:7, NKJV)] , rather His essence, the Holy Spirit, that is filled with everlasting love that never fails. So now is not the time to give up, rather it is time to press, press, and press again until you see the glory of the Lord on Earth - Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14, NKJV).

God Chaser

Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.

Who and what are you chasing these days? Before you answer know that worldly pursuit of carnal riches only leads to destruction, but hunger and thirst for God’s Kingdom leads to eternal prosperity. One of the biggest biblical myths is that God doesn’t want you to be rich, prosperous, or successful…not so. However, when you chase the created over the creator you’ll always come up short in that you place your trust and time in something other than God…something that may be good to you, but not good for you. Chasing after the things of man is like a dog chasing its tail – working a lot, but not necessarily working hard, or achieving anything of substance. Conversely, if you diligently chase God and pursue His righteousness, then you place your hope, your time, and effort in Him…glorifying His name as He makes your way prosperous. The difference begins and ends with your heart and the measure of faith you are willing to put forth. In worldly goods, you have a tangible, physical manifestation of material goods that can seemingly enhance, make, or alter life. While there is nothing wrong with acquiring said “goods”, it is problematic when the acquisition of goods trumps your ability to live according to the will of your God. The Bible states you serve a jealous God and that you should have no other gods but Him [You shall have no other gods before Me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments (Exodus 20:3-6, NKJV)] …so is it any wonder that while He desires you to be prosperous [Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2, NKJV)] , He also wants to ensure your heart pursues Him first and at all times? So who and what are you chasing these days…God and His Kingdom or the world, its people, and its things? Today proclaim yourself to be a God chaser diligently seeking His Kingdom and all of its righteousness [But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you (Matthew 6:33, NKJV)]… then watch how His love helps to nest your priorities for the good of His people.

It’s rather ironic that the same society that so vehemently protests celebrating a risen savior, so willingly enables (without serious objection) itself to honor/rejoice in the profane, the unrighteous, and morbid. While it’s a tough pill to swallow knowing that your outward expression of faith is suppressed, know that you serve a higher authority [You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them (1 John 4:4-5, NKJV)] and are called to persevere through the trials until there is triumph - “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33, NKJV). Today amongst all the clamor that persists in the midst of your walk, raise your voice to the Lord and exalt Him for His glory…giving Him all the praise and honor - Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s (Psalms 103:1-5, NKJV).

God’s qualifications are bigger than your resume and the world’s interview. Know that He draws the “extra” out of “your” ordinary illustrating to the world the blessings of His glory. Truly hard to comprehend or see without faith, yet exactly what is transpiring in inside of you. Understand that as it was with Joseph, Moses, David, Mary, and so forth, so it is with you that what God has placed inside of you is enough, and that out of you will come forth something so spectacular that only the Lord can orchestrate it. Do not be conformed to the standards of an unruly world, nor be defined by its perceptions [I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12:1-2, NKJV)] ; rather, let God’s love, His Word, and His Holy Spirit transform you from the inside out…then watch how out of His most gentle of touches and smallest of seeds springs forth the greatest of fruits.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

- John 1:1-5, NKJV

You can’t fully appreciate things until you completely understand the entire situation. While that seems to be quite the simple statement, how many Christians often overlook the beginning simply to get to the end? While that is a technique for speed reading through a class, how much more will you gain by knowing the complete experience…will you not gain a deeper appreciation or perhaps better understanding? Far too many Christians opt to be speed readers these days, zooming and perusing the Bible, as well as people’s lives, as if this thing God has placed in front of them was on some sort of DVR or Kindle. However, what most fail to realize is that this skimming not only shortchanges them, but the people God has assigned to them in that they take in so very little, but expect a lot in return…based off a mere scan. Thank the Lord for His grace and mercy upon your soul, and for not viewing you in the same light or passing fancy in which your heart does His people. Praise Him for being with you from the start and standing by you until you reach the finish line. Now imagine how much more informed He is by completely understanding your situation vice just taking a small sample size. See He’s been there from the start when you were so tore up that “tore” up didn’t want to be associated with you, yet all the while He washed you in His blood, clothed you in His righteousness, and uplifted you by His hand. Know that this didn’t happen over night and that He has been there since the beginning speaking His Word into your heart and illuminating your path with His guiding light. Given all that He knows about you, how much more will He not stand by you until the end? That’s a testimony all by itself that should provoke some praise. Understand that while it’s so very tempting to skip to the end of any situation, take time out to go back to the beginning and work forward that you might completely understand the dynamics and direction of circumstances/situations surrounding God’s people. Today give God all the glory by putting love into your ordeal, your encounters, your trials knowing He was with you from the start (your darkest times) and will see you through the finish line…then watch how His light in you separates His people from the world’s darkness and resuscitates their souls - Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself’” (Matthew 22:37-39, NKJV).

The Glory of God

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.”

There is something about exalting the glory of God that puts everything in perspective. When you lift your hands in surrender to Him…when you willingly give Him your heart…when you stop and stand in awe at His glory, you quickly realize that He has your whole world in His hands. The world believes things revolve around them and their actions; however, Christians believe in the sovereignty of the Lord…understanding that it is all about Him and His will. This stark contrast allows those in Christ to focus on the things of Christ knowing that God’s grace will extend upon them, their situations, and everything in between and that He will ultimately provide all things. When you work for God’s glory and not the world’s you are afforded the riches of the Kingdom and provided the strength of the Lord’s hand. Your path will always be illuminated as long as you walk under His direction. These are the benefits of the glory of God. Unfortunately the allure of the world is real and ever present. You must choose between carnal riches that are here and now, but fleeting and the everlasting love from above that saves and provides eternal life. Today, praise the Lord for all His glory and know that He has established this day to exhibit His grace and mercy through you.

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:36-38, NKJV). God’s harvest is all about spreading the bountiful blessings of His grace and He accomplishes this through His people. It is one thing to talk about the saving grace of God, but it is another to put it on display to the world. Understand that you are the manifestation of the harvest…a living, breathing, walking example to the masses of the power of God’s restoration. However, how will they (the masses) ever know unless you go and tell them…show them - How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things” (Romans 10:14-15, NKJV). So are you being stingy with God’s harvest? How so? By not sharing His gift (your salvation) with those He has assigned to you - “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved” (Jeremiah 8:20, NKJV). Know that God has planted a seed in you that is itching to sprout. Stop stifling its growth and allow His Spirit to water it so that the fruits of your testimony may provide God’s refreshment to His people.

There are a lot of reasons to be thankful that often go unnoticed or overlooked…one such example is “today.” When you look at “today” what do you see? Do you see a present from the Lord…another opportunity to dance in the light of His glory…or just another point in time? Understand that this “present” called “today” comes from the Lord [Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows (James 1:17, NIV)] , not from your job, not from others, and not from your own doing. When you frame life in this manner, your eyes should awaken to the perpetual blessings He has bestowed upon you [This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him” (Lamentations 3:21-24, NKJV)]… understanding that above all else He has set aside this day, this hour, this very moment to manifest His glory in you [“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)]… but will you take advantage of what He is providing you free of charge? What a great and precious gift we have in “this” day! Let us rejoice in it, giving thanks and praise to our benevolent Father who has afforded us the fullness of His riches…glory to His name - Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And we know that all praises belong to God [Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who with his hands has fulfilled what he promised with his mouth to my father David (2 Chronicles 6:4, NIV)] ; however, saying a thing and believing in it are two different things. While God does not lie [“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it” (Numbers 23:19-20, NKJV) ] it is still nice to see/experience the manifestation of His blessings. However, true faith is believing that the very thing hoped for is already realized in your prayer [Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them (Mark 11:24, NKJV)].… knowing that God is Who He says He is, and will do what He says He will do. All praises are God’s and God’s alone…we exalt Him because of Who He is, a faithful and loving Father to all. Today look beyond what is seen by your failing natural eyes and embrace the hope nested in His promise by praising His name from beginning to end.

Magnify The Lord

When faced with a difficult or impossible situation, do you take time out to magnify the Lord…in word and deed - And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; for behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name” (Luke 1:46-49, NKJV). Mary embraced a seemingly impossible situation, one that could have jeopardized the rest of her life, and counted it as a blessing from the Lord. She embraced the challenge of motherhood, as well as, the potential shame associated with it. Fortunately, Mary sought the glory of God’s blessings over the potential comments, mockery, or shame of this world…acknowledging the sovereignty of God’s will and its impact over the time. We do well to learn from such humility…such obedience…understanding that obedience to God’s Word brings forth life through a spiritual birth. It is this very “birth” springing from within our souls that if uninhibited will bring glory to the Lord and subsequently bless you. So in this season will you choose to say “yes” to the Lord and magnify His name regardless of what He is asking or will you walk away fearing the reprisal that may ensue? While the choice is yours, know that He has and will continue to do great things for those who obey His way. Today, allow the Lord to birth a mighty and awesome thing in you and allow His glory to spring forth from you…then watch how a difficult situation promotes life all around you - He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive (John 7:38-39, NKJV).

Tired of wrestling with the world and its problems…perhaps it’s time to tap out of your own will and submit to God - Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:7, NKJV). Unlike submitting in the natural, when you submit to God, your soul receives peace because your spirit-man is able to overcome your flesh…resulting in your ability flee from and resist the temptations and harassment of the devil. Glory in God’s name results in your victory and triumph over undesirable circumstances. However, it’s all about what you choose to believe in: the authority of God or the tyranny of Satan. If you believe that God will never leave, nor forsake you, then draw near to Him, and clothe yourself in the abundance of His love…if not then your heart will be in constant turmoil…leaving you bitter, anxious, and envious. You, however, the mature Christian must stand firm in your faith and draw near to your power source…knowing that if you obey His Word, He’ll take care of the rest - “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country” (Deuteronomy 28:1-3, NKJV).

Favoritism

My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,” have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?

James reminds the Christian Body that there is no favoritism or partiality in the Kingdom of God based upon our outward appearance or stature. The modern body does well to heed such admonishment when operating in today’s environment. Far too often we gaze upon the outward appearance of men, women, and ministries and make snap judgments; however, what if God did so much with His people…and in particular you? Thankfully we serve a merciful God whose desire is that all might be healed and restored…giving every opportunity for ALL to receive His Word. Understand that God’s blessing are not exclusive, rather inclusive…the price has already been paid, the world just simply needs to receive. As a result we cannot afford to view “God’s” people through our own natural (sinful) eyes, rather through the unbiased lens of His Word…fervently ministering/fellowshipping in His grace and mercy. Today allow the love of Christ to compel your heart to go beyond worldly perceptions/expectations when dealing with His people…then watch how God’s light spread His grace and mercy into the world’s darkness.

Fill You Belly

Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

There is a temptation to be around folks who can provide things for you. Unfortunately if that is what your relationship is based off, then what comes of it when those same people sooner or later are unable to feed your carnal appetite? Know that this same temptation is prevalent among God’s people with far too many seeking out God only for what they perceive He can do for them. The problem is that when you come to God seeking only to fill your belly with things of the world, you will always come up short…always be thirsty, always be hungry - But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’” (Matthew 4:4, NKJV). The world’s morsels (words, riches, fame, etc.) cannot save you; as a result, no matter how much you feed your flesh, you are always malnourished; however, if you just pull up to God’s table and fill your plate with His Word, the fruits of His Spirit will overflow to the point where you’ll have more than enough to save your soul and others - It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63, NKJV). Spiritual maturity necessitates that you move from stuffing your own face/belly with fleshly desires, longing and seeking out things that benefit self, and transition to consuming the things of God that will unleash His Spirit into your life and others…providing Kingdom principles on Earth…promoting the salvation of souls. Today taste and see that the Lord is good and share His goodness throughout the world - Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing (Psalms 34:8-10, NKJV).

Allow God to minister to your soul throughout your trials and tribulations by simply extending your arms in a posture of surrender. Allow Him to be your salvation throughout whatever “it” is in your life that has you running from here to there and keeping you up at night. Allow His instruction to illuminate the way you should go that you may be equipped, empowered, encouraged in every season…be it increase or famine. Allow His Word to touch your very heart as His uncompromising love comforts you in the midst of your turmoil and anxiety. Finally allow His Spirit to speak every dry place in your life that they may once again restored, bear fruit, and bring glory/honor to God’s name. Today allow God into your life through all of your situations, circumstances, and problems…then watch how He delivers you from the world’s afflictions - And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord; it shall rejoice in His salvation. All my bones shall say, “Lord, who is like You, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, yes, the poor and the needy from him who plunders him?” (Psalms 35:9-10, NKJV).

How To get Ants To Move Mountains

There is a call for greater to those who have not only accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, but also willingly choose to walk in His righteousness. As a result this “call” resonates among God’s people drawing them together as one body to honor and glorify the Lord, as well as, perform His good works. Good things happen when individuals answer God’s call…performing “good” works for the glory of God’s Kingdom. But no man or woman alone encompasses all that is required for the workload; rather, “great” things happen when individuals come together to honor, glorify the Lord, and perform His good works. Seems to be the simplest of equations 1 + 1 = 2…hence “greater”, yet this is where the Church has always stumbled - forsaking “self” in order to take on Christ and integrate into a larger body. While our natural inclination is to charge through life single handily, God recognizes that His people have needs…first and foremost Him and then others. His desire from the beginning with Adam and Eve to the Disciples and forward is that we never have to walk this Earth alone…yet now more than ever the Church’s “parts” seem to be running in disparate directions vice the unified approach God’s call requires. A daunting task to unify much less direct a body so filled with talent and gifts it’s no wonder the Church body continues to stumble and bumble. However, consider the ant and his/her plight: small in stature but capable of incredible feats alone, yet recognizes the need to integrate into a larger body in order to maximize efforts and is convinced this will allow the collective to move mountains (comparably speaking) So the question today is how to get ants (God’s people…small in stature) to move mountains (perform the accompanying works associated with those who believe [Mark 16:17-18] in unison as one body? The unequivocal answer is through God. We believe in one (1) God through the trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit…one unified body equipping, empowering, and encouraging the people to stand throughout the good, the bad, and the ugly. Through our acceptance of Jesus we receive His Spirit, resulting in access to the love of the Father. It is this relationship that allows us to become sons/daughters who “abide” in the will of the Father as exemplified first by Jesus. The inward manifestation of God’s Spirit and Word compels every Christian to abide in God’s “call” for greater…leaving behind the “good” of individual efforts in order to integrate into a larger body to maximize efforts…all the while allowing the collective to move spiritual mountains for the glory of God’s Kingdom. Understand that our individual physical bodies operate efficiently and effectively when every part works together…so it is with God’s body. A house divided cannot stand, nor can a divided body. It’s time for God’s people to move the world’s mountains (lack, sin, affliction, addiction, hate, depression, oppression, etc.) by focusing on His call and not the world’s

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 (NKJV): For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many.

Ephesians 4:4:1-6 (NKJV): I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV): I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Where He is

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

A good portion of the troubles in our respective lives are related to not being where we ought to be…not being where God has either directed them to go or being in place where God does not desire them to reside in. This place especially includes your heart. We often think of a physical place, but it is your heart that God desires the most…for where your heart goes, the rest of you will follow - For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21, NKJV).

But if you can just get to where He is…that place that has your heart written all over it…He will surely unlock the treasures of Heaven [“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know” (John 14:1-4, NKJV)]… affording the very promises He has spoken into your life. However, it is your flesh’s desire to work contrary to the works of the Holy Spirit, and it is this dynamic that has you at a fork in your spiritual road. Choose “right” and you will be where He is [It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63, NKJV)] …choose poorly and your flesh will lead you down a path of destruction - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23, NKJV). Today leave behind the ways of this world and get to that place where He is…knowing that no matter what you are going through He will be with you through it all and until the very end - Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6, NKJV).

It Takes Just One To Make A Difference

While we tend to focus on collective bodies and groups, know that it takes just one to make a difference. Right, wrong, or indifferent, “one” makes a difference…good or bad. One decided to go against the will of God, causing all to suffer…one decided to go against the will of man, causing all to be saved [For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous (Romans 5:19, NKJV)] …what a difference choosing the “right” one makes! So when it comes to life’s decisions, are you the one that will make a lasting difference for the good of the Kingdom…standing firm in the Lord’s Word/convictions [“But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him, and in My name his horn shall be exalted. Also I will set his hand over the sea, and his right hand over the rivers. He shall cry to Me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.’ Also I will make him My firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth. My mercy I will keep for him forever, and My covenant shall stand firm with him. His seed also I will make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven” (Psalms 89:24-29, NKJV)] , or will you cause those around you to stumble and enable the habits of a carnal world? If it takes just one to make a difference, will you choose today to be that difference in your home, at your job, in your community, in your church? Never underestimate how the Christ in you [You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4, NKJV)] will bring light to a dark and impoverished world. Embrace His Holy Spirit and through Him be the difference today you so desperately seek within the world.

All In

I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”

- Revelations 3:14-16, NKJV

God is looking for a group of “sold out” followers…ones who will go all in for His glory. Unfortunately far too often the body of Christ has one foot in the door for God with the other hanging out, as if there is some sort of escape clause just in case things go sideways. However, God’s message is simple: you are either for Him or against Him…there is no in between. So today is decision day for His people and as we consume that message today, let us fully comprehend what it means to be all in. In other words we don’t pick or choose the portions of the Word we will/won’t follow, or the assignments we will/won’t complete. It means that we will give Him our all in everything…being where we’re supposed to be when we’re supposed to be and how we’re supposed to be. All in for Christ is a mindset driven from a lifestyle in Him predicated on the filling of the Holy Spirit and the installment/incorporation of the Word in our lives. God is looking for the people who are called by His name and belong to Him…and He recognizes them by their hearts’ commitment and love towards Him. We often say we are blessed and highly favored, but how many that state such have yet to completely give their all to Him whom has given so abundantly and graciously? How many still have one foot out the door, yet have confessed their loyalty to God through Jesus Christ? Today let us confess that we are too blessed to regress, and then faithfully commit our lives (in word and deed) to the Lord…allowing His love for us to ignite an everlasting fire within our souls that His glory might shine throughout the world.

Patience In Suffering

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all (Psalms 34:19, NKJV).” So much of our time is wasted on murmuring and complaining about our suffrage; however, if time is such a “precious” commodity, why then waste it on being disgruntled - My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing (James 1:2-4, NKJV). The Bible states that you, the Christian, will encounter many trials/tribulations [“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33, NKJV)] , but Jesus tells us to rejoice because HE has overcome it all. Jesus understood His role in the plot that He would inevitably partake in…and while He would suffer much for our sins, His understanding of the end, specifically the victory, coupled with His love of the Father, allowed Him to endure until the end. You the mature Christian must maintain the same mindset, exhibiting patience in suffering…knowing the key is not in being miserable throughout the journey, but joyful in doing the will of the Lord - Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer (Romans 12:11-12, NIV) . Know that it is in this patience, this seemingly lull in time/action, that God’s mysterious works are set forth for His glory…raising you out of a dire, hapless, and hopeless situation…allowing His grace to complete the work He has always ordained for you. However, are you willing to be patient enough [Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord (James 5:7, NKJV)] throughout it all in order receive the sufficiency of His grace and to experience the fullness of His glory - Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ” (2 Corinthians 12:8-9, NKJV)?

Restored Vision

And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.” Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.

- Mark 8:22-25, NKJV

Seeing isn’t always believing, but believing is seeing when it comes to the Kingdom of God. Know that what you see now may not be what you see when God places His hand upon your situation…but are “you” willing to wait long enough for things to come into focus? Understand that there’s “your” time and then there’s God’s time, but only one of those is the timing always right (hint: it’s not yours). Now before you scoff at your “wait” time, think about all of the things from this world that you willingly wait for (burgers, cable, plumbing, clothes, DMV, mail, etc.) while receiving “suspect” service…then acknowledge that outside of you no one else has a greater vested interest in your success or well being than the Lord - Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2, NKJV) . Are “you” though willing to humble yourself enough to allow God’s touch to correct your vision that you no longer see as “self” or even as the world sees, but rather as His Spirit directs? If so then allow God’s “restored vision” to enable your walk according to His plan and in step with His righteousness…then watch how you see clearly for the first time.

Your Latter Shall Be Greater

Job endured a great struggle…such that a lesser man/woman would have quit; however, he remained faithful to the one true God in spite of it all. Despite the hardships, the loses, and seemingly overwhelming odds, Job looked towards the hills [I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth (Psalms 121:1, NKJV)] and placed his hope and trust in the Lord…believing until the end that God’s hand would deliver him…no matter what the “day” looked like or what “they”, “them”, and “those” had to say. You too must keep the same mindset, always pointing your heart towards the Lord and trusting in the assurance of His promises…understanding that your plight isn’t just about you, but for the glory of God’s Kingdom; as a result, continue in Him believing your labor is not in vain - For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises (Hebrews 6:10-12, NKJV). Just as with Job, God has set before you “this” day that His glory may be known among the world regardless of the situation, circumstance, or problem. Know that the fidelity of His Word ensures that your latter shall be greater than your past; in other words, He not only knows the struggles/hardships you are enduring, but has placed His hand upon them that your way may be successful…exceedingly, abundantly, and beyond your expectations - Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:7-9, NKJV). So make way in your heart today to trust in Him Who is able to make the extraordinary out of the ordinary…then watch how your faith in the Lord becomes a beacon of light and hope to an unbelieving world.

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

What more can you say about God’s light and glory exhibited in, by, with and through Jesus Christ other than it is simply magnificent! Understand that God’s promises and His might are all on display through His Word…and it is this same Word that commands light into darkness…hope into despair…strength into weakness. What more can you say about such a glorious light other than to say that it is magnificent! God’s Word is tried and proven…pure and sincere…and you know this because even at your lowest point, He not only provided It as a guiding light, but also kept It, even when you were unfaithful. However, you must also know that the radiance of His glory continues to be embodied in you His light bearer. As a result, how much more will His glorious light radiate if you simply speak His Word into any and all of your situations? Today expect great things and allow the world to experience His glorious light as it shines through you…then watch how His Word manifests throughout the world.

Clear The Way

Do you constantly find yourself on the opposite end of where you thought you should be, ought to be, or planned to be? Do you often find yourself questioning how and why this is so? Subsequently when life leaves you feeling this way, do you ever ask the Lord to open your heart and reveal to you the desires of His commands? Know that if you find yourself engaged in the former without seeking out the latter, then you may never find peace or clarity. Understand that God has a plan specifically designed for you [For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile” (Jeremiah 29:11-14, NIV)] , but this plan is according to His thoughts and ways [“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55: , NKJV) ], not yours; as a result, things are not always going to work according to your plan or your understanding…rather according to His - And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28, NKJV). However, you must exercise your faith and trust that because He is mindful of you, has a plan for you, that He will also clear the way for you to prosper – “Thus says the Lord to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held - to subdue nations before him and loose the armor of kings, to open before him the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut: ‘I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel (Isaiah 45:1-3, NKJV). Trust He Who laid down His life for you with your heart that He may equip, empower, and encourage you knowing that God’s hand is upon you and that He will never leave nor forsake you – You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest regions, and said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand’ (Isaiah 41:9-10, NKJV) . Today trust that the Lord is Who He says He is and that you are who He says you are…then watch how “He” (not the world or its circumstances) removes you from and places you in the locations, situations ,and circumstances where He needs/desires you to be that you may bring glory to His name.

God gives us so many opportunities and gifts in/through Christ…so much so we tend to overlook or forget some of the most basic ones. Understand that while we wake up looking for and expecting signs, wonders, and miracles, we ought not forget about the things God provides/works behind the scenes. Know that a lot goes into making “us”, “us” and we know this because when something (call it drama or turmoil) pokes its ugly head up, we quickly learn what we are living without. Unfortunately it is in this moment of inconvenience that we also find ourselves anxious or troubled, yet perhaps one of the most over looked gifts God delivers through Jesus is peace. While not shiny or tantalizing, “peace” is exactly what we need, what we require to negotiate this thing we call life. Peace will keep us in faith when hell seems to set up camp outside our homes. Peace will keep our hearts believing even when the world keeps picking at old wounds. Peace will let us rest even though we have no clue how we’ll make it through today, much less tomorrow. Peace allows our minds to stay on Christ even when the world says we are fools for believing in what we don’t see. Peace in heart, mind, body, and soul allows each of us to focus on the one thing that matters – Christ…and from there we can have joy, happiness, and love because our thoughts and ways are no longer about the world, but on the Kingdom. Today let’s forgo worrying, fear, and anxiety, and let God be Lord over our lives…then let us receive His peace which passes all understanding - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7, NKJV).

Faithful Growth

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

In order to grow you must have the right products. For example, no proper garden has ever produced brilliant crops without the right/the appropriate mixtures necessary to stimulate growth. Your spiritual growth is no different. Understand that the fruits of your labor do not automatically produce the overwhelming harvest they are destined for; however, given the right mixture of faith and perseverance, your soul will be ripe for God’s harvest and the work for His kingdom - But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:5-8, NKJV). Know that there is no substitute for the real thing and while others may appear to be advancing in their walk, only faithful growth (adherence to God’s Word in your calling) will stimulate your walk in Christ and sustain you until the end while others are led astray by the allure of the world - Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:10-11, NKJV). This is why you must grow in His Word, not man’s/woman’s words because while those words may take you some place, chances are it’s not where you need/want to be. Faithful growth is a lifestyle, a perpetual learning experience that begins and ends with you willingly and humbly receiving Him in all aspects of your life. Remember that in order to grow you must have the right products…the Lord has set before you the “right” product in His Word this day so that you may not only grow in Him, but provide His light to illuminate the paths of His people - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17, NIV).

Enduring For A Greater Cause

For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

What a beautiful revelation it is to see who you are in Christ through the example of His ministry. From start to finish Jesus’ ministry was (and still is) defined by humble service. It is in this submissiveness to the Father’s will that you often find yourself at a crossroad of selflessness and selfishness…one (selflessness) is wrapped in the covering of God’s precious promises and love, while the other (selfishness) is littered with the stain of sin. While both have everlasting payouts, only the former can keep you in step with the will of God. If you are truly going to move beyond simply “wearing” the name of Christ and actually “bear” it, then you must move beyond carnality and embrace His Spirit - Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. “Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom” (Matthew 16:24-28, NKJV). Now understand denial for God’s call results in turmoil and struggle…the very people and things that once uplifted you and exalted you will now despise you and attempt to thwart you. However, the glory of the Lord is upon you through the inward filling of His Spirit; resulting in the outward manifestation of His grace and mercy through your words and actions - For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption — that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:26-31, NKJV). Unfortunately far too many Christians remain stuck at this crossroad of selflessness and selfishness…continuing to lean towards self, believing that the suffering across the road is far too great for them to endure and never worth the cost. However, it is at the intersection that you encounter the glory of the Lord and you receive a glimpse of who you are in Christ by faith…believing that you, like Jesus, are enduring for a greater cause - For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18, NKJV). Choose the path of righteousness and return to the fold of your Heavenly Father…know that regardless of your assignment, you are enduring for a greater cause - In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls. Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow (1 Peter 1:6-11, NKJV).

In a world filled with substitutes and imitations, it is important to note that no one and nothing compares to the Lord - “No one is holy like the Lord, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like our God” (1 Samuel 2:2, NKJV) . Understand the times we live in, where a generation would become so busy, so free, so independent that it would find less and less time to incorporate the very Kingdom principles that set them free and lifted them up…only to replace those principles with some sort of form/fashion of religion. Be weary of such principles and those who teach them for their ways are not the ways of God [Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world (1 John 4:1, NKJV)] and they only lead away from God, not towards Him - For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:20-23, NKJV) . Know that there’s nothing like the real thing (Jesus) when it comes to salvation, and that any other substitute or shortcut just won’t get it done. There is only one God and nothing/no one comes close! So stopping settling for cheap imitations and take hold of the real thing - ‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God’ (Leviticus 19:31, NKJV).

Master's Plan

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

There’s your way and then there’s God’s way, but only one those ways will prevail. Understand that deep within your heart are desires, and while there is nothing wrong with having desires, the “who”, “what”, “when”, “where”, and “why” of said “desires” is of the utmost importance. Know that while all of God’s people make plans for today and the future, only the “master’s” plan prevails in the end - Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails (Proverbs 19:21, NIV) . So knowing this is the outcome of all things: that all flesh is destined to perish, and that God’s plan supersedes all fleshly desires…why aren’t you aligning your designs with the master (Master’s) plan - There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death (Proverbs 14:12, NKJV) ? God has a plan for you, and while He strongly encourages you down His path of righteousness He will never force you to venture down it. Now acknowledging all of this, place your trust in the assurance of His promises [Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones (Proverbs 3:5-8, NKJV)] believing until the end that He not only says what He means, but means what He says - God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good (Numbers 23:19, NKJV).

Acknowledge Him in The Midst of It All

Sometimes you just have to take time out of your busy schedule and acknowledge Him in the midst of it all - Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! When the walls around you seem to be closing in and your world appears to be imploding, God is yet faithful and His mercies endure forever - Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! For His mercy endures forever (Psalms 136:26, NKJV) . Know that great things happen when individuals set aside “individual” efforts and place their heart’s focus upon the Lord. The move of God is everlasting and not contingent upon your circumstances or situation. So regardless of the good, the bad or the ugly, God is in the midst of it all and He does not change. So can you acknowledge Him as Lord over your life, Lord over your situations…believing that He already has the outcome in His hands…all you have to do is believe that He is willing and able to see you through it all - being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6, NKJV).

Accountable

Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Are you self aware enough to realize when you have messed up? How about to the point where you not only realize you’ve made a mistake, but are contrite about it? Unfortunately this is the crossroad so many people find themselves at…delineating between “oops” and “I’m sorry.” Sadly many fall, but hit so hard they believe they can never get back up. Whether it be pride, ego, or shame, these same people believe that their “fall” is so far gone that they’ll never be able to get back up…much less walk again. Others fall, but not only deny their slip ups, but mock those who have fallen alongside them. However, what the latter fails to realize, but that all must realize is that everyone will be held accountable for his/her actions - But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned (Matthew 12:36-37, NKJV). So are you accountable for your actions…accountable for the very words that come out of your mouth? Know that when you fall God provides a guiding hand to you in Jesus Christ…and if allowed, this helping, healing hand will not only uplift you, but support you all throughout your journey. But the problem stems from acknowledging that you have fallen in the first place, and then accounting for your actions by humbly seeking assistance instead of mocking those who may find themselves in a similar state. The power of Christ affords you the opportunity to come before the Lord and repent…but His love only penetrates if you open your heart to Its conviction. So are you self aware enough to realize when you have messed up…what about to the point you not only realize you’ve made a mistake, but are contrite about it? Then be accountable for your actions, repent, and receive the love of Christ that God’s grace might restore you…then offer your life as a living testimony to Christ’s hope instead of the world’s mockery that all might be witnesses to God’s glory.

Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us that a unified Church is an enabled and empowered Church joined through the love of Christ and moved through the Holy Spirit. Know that while individual prayer, faith, and love can remove problems from situations and circumstances, there is strength in the power of unity that stems from God’s people standing in unison to intercede for the world’s behalf. This unity is of the utmost importance in that it is the antithesis of carnality (self/individuality) and the fulfillment of Christ’s obedience/sacrifice (selflessness). Understand that a unified and praying Church is submissive to the will of God and aligned with His Word and His Spirit; as a result, there is nothing this body, aligned in Christ, can’t do. However, the immediacy of “now” and the allure of darkness often precludes unity among the body…leaving the world’s patients void of the very strength and peace promised to them by God. This is a year of alignment to God’s will and spiritual unity within the body of Christ; subsequently, we must heed the call to push aside “self” and “selfish” ways that God’s light may be spread through the power of an enabled and empowered Church. Through such unity, God will reveal Himself to His people through deliverance, healing, and restoration - And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18, NKJV) . Today be the seed of change the world so desperately seeks and bear God’s fruits that hurting and impoverished world might once again be filled by God’s Word and moved by His Spirit - Then the Lord will be zealous for His land, and pity His people. The Lord will answer and say to His people, “Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil, and you will be satisfied by them; I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations” (Joel 2:18-19, NKJV) .

You cannot be elevated if you are unwilling to go to new heights. God is asking "you" to sacrifice "self" and the comfort of "here" that He may reward your obedience. So how good is "here" that you're so unwilling to let go and move to there under His unction, in the direction of His blessings? Far too often the very thing you seek, the very thing you've been praying for resides with Him, yet you're only willing to do things "your" way, not His. Let God be Lord over "all" of your life...heart, mind, body, soul, and circumstances/situations. Build upon the relationship He established in the midst of your weakness and the very trials/tribulations He delivered "you" from...and meet His plan (not yours) with gratitude...knowing and believing that His way is "always" right, no matter how sideways it may seem to be leaving you. Today let God elevate you from elementary thinking/principles by trusting in His plans for you [For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.[b] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile” (Jeremiah 29:11-14, NIV) ]...then watch how His instructions order your steps to where He needs "you" to be in order to elevate His people.

Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.” And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they said, “Let us rise up and build.” Then they set their hands to this good work.

There are life altering events that can cause you to question your walk in Christ; however, what you do or fail to do in these moments of distress may just define who you are in Christ. Know that “distress” or “trouble” may seemingly be the end all/be all to your life right now, but if you simply take a step back and reflect upon Who it is that you serve and walk for, things should become a little clearer - For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39, NKJV) . Understand that it is God’s unfailing love for you that has initiated grace and mercy into your life…setting you free from torment and disgrace. So why are you still approaching your situations and circumstances from a “defeated” carnal mindset? The Lord has placed this day (and all of its challenges) that you might rediscover “His” glory…even in the midst of turmoil and distress. However, “you” must choose to open you’re eyes and look beyond what the natural eyes see and tap into what the Spirit has proclaimed to you - Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near (Isaiah 55:6, NKJV). See, God’s glory still manifests even in your distress. Therefore, pick yourself up and build upon the foundation of God’s Word knowing that He will establish a good work in you; regardless of what is seen or heard, His hand will always be upon you as long as you work according to His Word.

No Bondage

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

- John 8:36

Today declare “there is no bondage for those who are in Christ Jesus”. Now take a step back and examine "your" declaration...the context and parameters pertaining to/surrounding "your" life. Understanding that you have God at His Word and believing that He is Who He says He is and that He'll do what He says He'll do, then the words "no" and "bondage" ought to incite a "right" now kind of praise resonating from the inwards of "your" soul to the world at large. Know that God sent the Son to free His children, not condemn them or chain them to the world's stain. Therefore lift "your" head and raise "your" hands in surrender and victory knowing the world's shenanigans no longer have a grip (much less control) on "your" life. Now say goodbye to oppression, depression, molestation, aggression, insecurity, fear, addiction, debt, doubt, anger, disabilities (mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual) because God has given you "your" freedom back. However, as you are free, likewise you are free to choose. Don't let your declaration fade and cause “you” to slip back into the binding chains He delivered you from this day, this hour, this very moment...rather acknowledge that there is no bondage for those who are in Christ Jesus and "you" are now enabled to operate the signs, wonders, and miracles God ordained in "you" of old.

Be strong in Christ and He will lift every weight for you....

Spiritual Strength

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

- Ephesians 6:10, NKJV

Your strength is measured in different ways. Physically, your abilities are challenged by the resistance or weight that you are able to successfully push, pull, lift, or carry. Emotionally, your resolve (emotional strength) is challenged by your ability to hold up or withstand sensory stressors. Both result in applied pressure in order to endure, grow, and overcome. If trained appropriately, both the body and the mind can and will endure a tremendous threshold…enabling you to move beyond perceived limits. However, this requires adequate repetition, dedication, and significant focus in order to maintain peak performance at one or the other, if not both. It is easy to garner “said” strength when properly motivated or stimulated…generally, people are motivated at the bottom of a mountain and once they reach the summit; however, it’s who they are in the midst of the climb that often determines the nature of their true character. In between the “low” and the “high” points is a critical mass that causes you to question your faith and resolve – continue or turn back. Such is your walk in Christ. At your lowest point it is easy to acknowledge you need help, strength not of your own…you call out to Him and acknowledge His glory. Likewise it is easy to exalt the Lord once you have obtained what you desire. However, what about the “in between” moments…those instances when things are not seemingly quite low enough for you to call upon Him or high enough to exalt Him…the times you believe are not “enough” to seek His strength. Know that regardless of the circumstance or your position (at the base or summit), you alone do not and will never have enough strength to survive by yourself - So he answered and said to me:“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’”(Zechariah 4:6-7, NJV ). But if let in and allowed to function, the Holy Spirit will give you the power to be strong in Christ and to undertake any/all endeavors He has assigned to you - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12, NKJV) . Today receive God’s Holy Spirit in order to tap into the spiritual strength He has freely given you…be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might [Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10, NKJV)] and allow Him to direct you steps towards His glory.

Strengthen The Weak

Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

- Isaiah 35:3-5, NKJV

Now that God has you raised you up from your low point, go back to His people and spread His Word in order to strengthen the weak. Know that there is power and restoration in God’s Word and that victory ensues when you release It into your situations. Now as magnificent as His glory is to you, it is amplified the more it works in the lives of His people…always equipping, empowering, and encouraging. Understand that what God gives is not ordinary, but extraordinary, and that what He has imparted into you is enough to not only fill you, but those He has assigned to you as well. God wants you to live off the overflow of His love that His people may be sustained through His love stemming from His grace and mercy first exhibited to you and then through you…never meant solely for one, but for all that the weak may strengthened through His touch. So why are you withholding it as if it is in limited supply? God loves a cheerful giver [But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work (2 Corinthians 9:6-8, NKJV)] and no more so when you willingly and cheerfully give His Word through love to His people. Today’s world is filled with drama and despair leaving its people weak and seemingly hopeless, but the God you serve is bigger than their “today”, has witnessed their “yesterday”, and has say so over their “tomorrow”...but how will they ever know this unless you tell them - How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things” (Romans 10:14-15, NKJV) . Today lift someone up through the Word of God and allow Christ’s love to open their hearts to God’s grace and mercy to sustain their new walk in Him.

When It Comes To Pass

Thus all the children of Israel did; as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did. And it came to pass, on that very same day, that the Lord brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt according to their armies.

There are moments in our lives when our faith must transcend the logic placed before us and we simply do as we're told. God conditions the hearts, minds, bodies, and souls of His people through the very trials that they subsequently curse Him for,but when "it" comes to pass how many of them have enough sense to move out according to His commands? Our Lord hears our cries for freedom and just like with Israel, He will send forth the forces of Heaven to release us from bondage and bring us back from captivity. Unfortunately, many of us have not conditioned our hearts and minds to obey; as a result, our souls are unable to receive the true glory of God. We often find ourselves filling our bellies with appetizers and consequently forgo the main course leaving God's abundant blessings on the table. Far too often when that seminal moment to move out of bondage arises unbelief or satisfaction to abide in the little things overtakes these same individuals ultimately leaving them wanting, lacking, and despondent. This is the very reason so many continue to fall by the wayside, not recognizing the sign to move to better. Today know God's hand and recognize its authority to move us up and out of our situations...then watch how the armies of the Lord bring us out of bondage.

All The Glory

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, because of Your truth. Why should the Gentiles say, “So where is their God?”

Simple request today - give God all the glory, honor, and praise. Let your praise be a resounding signal to the world of His good works; an example of a great God. Let your worship quell your anxieties and soothe your soul. Let be to His name that you proclaim all signs, wonders, and miracles that encompass “this” day that all may know that not only is there a God, but He alone is worthy of the praise. Today all the glory, honor, and praise belong to God so let your act of obedience outweigh your sacrifice of praise...then watch how His hand is placed upon all of your situations [“For all those things My hand has made, and all those things exist,” says the Lord. “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word (Isaiah 66:2, NKJV)] and His light illuminates your path - To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd. You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty. You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall (Psalms 18:25-29, NIV).

A Light For "THE" Way

I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

Simple message for today - abide in Christ's light and steer clear of the world's darkness. Simple indeed, yet seemingly so hard given life's "happenings." Know that for the Christian this very light has already served as a beacon of hope, guiding and directing all who dare to call upon and believe in the name of Jesus to the promise of a better "today." Likewise, this same light now resides in each and every single person whose hope, trust, faith, and love are in Him. As a result, the Christian's walk isn't in the dark (the pride of life, lust of flesh, lust of the eye); rather, in the light (love, peace, joy, patience, self-control), serving as the manifested glory of God's love and a ray of His hope in the midst of a dark world. It is of the utmost importance that now more than ever, every single person bearing the name of Christ (Christian) reflect the light, not stifle/hide it knowing that every action has a life in the balance - “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16, ESV). Today abide in the light, steer clear of the world's darkness...then watch how "you" become a light for "THE" way to those who abide in darkness.

A Seed For All Seasons

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. 25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor."

Plant Christ and His Seed will grow regardless of the time, temperature, or soil (soul) it lands on. Know that Jesus is the seed for all seasons so deposit Him any/everywhere you go, then watch how the world's "plots" succumb to the Lord's harvest of love.

Root Cause

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Do you only look at God’s Word when something is wrong or perhaps after things have gone completely sideways? Do you find yourself merely treating the symptoms to your problems and never getting after the “root” cause? Perhaps you should consider getting left of problem solving/mitigation by identifying that “you” will have problems, and that “you” should probably study before you come across the problems on the test. So much of your success today is correlated to what you did or didn’t do yesterday. Yet you find yourself only seeking remedies for symptoms instead of cures for the cause. Know that no one wakes up lifting hundreds of pounds initially, but with diligence over time, they are more than able to expertly negotiate circumstances before they become situations…and situations prior to becoming problems. Understand that no one plans to fail, rather fails to plan, and while God’s Word is better than any 911 call, It is even more empowering when used in the beginning, middle, and end of any/all decisions. God’s Word is your road map to success and happiness [Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7, NKJV)] …so stop putting It off and substituting It for poor “sugary”, “fix now” types of words you confuse for remedies. Study early/often and you will never be disappointed; rather, equipped, empowered, and encouraged for every season. Today study God’s Word and build a lasting relationship with Him through It that He may guide you according to His will.

Love Is The Bridge

Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

God's love is the bridge over any/all troubled waters, chaotic moments, situations, circumstances, and problems. Know that God's "free" gift of grace embodies such a love and His glory is manifested/readily seen at the cross. This bridge of love that is Jesus Christ affords any and all who dare to believe to overcome the sins of the world and be brought back into relationship with God - Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:1-2, NKJV). Now with such a glorious bridge are "you" willing to take the necessary steps to cross over from "here" (disappointment, dissatisfaction, discouragement, and despair) to "there" (love and hope)? Today, walk by faith and not by sight, allowing God's love to lift you above every trouble seen and unseen...then watch how His peace protects your heart and mind throughout it all - "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).
